The Walk - Lady With A Parasol
My interpretation of Claude Monet's painting. Please enjoy!!! (Go easy on me. I'm not good with poems...)
There’s a woman who is going for a walk.
She looks so beautiful but can she talk.
There are lots of colors, all so bright.
But the most used may be white.
There’s a painting in the gallery too small;
A woman with an umbrella in the fall.
Behind her is a sky, you can see a mile.
But the man there doesn’t have a smile.
Lady with a parasol. What worries you?
You stand there looking oh so blue.
Can it be something really sad?
Or inside are you really mad?
Monet, Monet, how well you can paint.
This piece of art can make anyone faint.
Trying to figure this work out hurts me.
Because the purpose is not to be.
Why did you paint this?
Is the woman the emphasis?
This is just a hypothesis,
But, maybe a horrible miss?
The sky is blue as the grass is green.
But, the woman, as seen,
Isn’t blue or green;
A white angel is what I had seen.
Since when was it that daffodils gleam?
Because in this painting it would seem,
That flowers so bright should be light.
Now I understand why you use white.
There’s a storm coming young lady.
Go back home before it becomes hazy.
You too, young man. The time has come
For you and her and also for some. . .
