The Vampires Pet - Chapter 5

Cain finally heals Kasey, and with that gets a interesting insight into her mind.
I sat, crying no the couch and talking to Lucy, when Cole and Damien walked in.
"Get out we are having a girl talk!" Lucy, literally, screams at the door as I hastily wiped my tears away. I was crying because Lucy asked if I had been raped. I told her everything that happened, and that I wasn’t raped.

After standing there, shocked for a moment or two, Damien quickly closes the door again. I would have laughed if I were one of them. Lucy and I talked for a while, I couldn’t bring myself to tell her I had eavesdropped on their…meeting this morning, but I did ask a few other questions.
"I don’t think Cole and Damien will be game enough to come back…ever." She laughs.
"They are used to seeing girls cry, don’t feel so bad." I still blush.
"Besides, they are probably only waiting at the bar downstairs. I should probably go and get them for lunch." She glances at the clock.
"Yeah, ok." When she leaves I clean myself up in the bathroom a little, but I looked ok now. I walk back out a start flipping through a magazine on the table.

After lunch Cole clears his throat a little, drawing my attention to him.
"I would like to heal you this afternoon, if that is ok."
"Er…yeah, I suppose." I was nervous, I didn’t really know what healing meant.
"Kasey, come in here for a minute." Lucy says, taking my hand. I follow, feeling like a small child. She closes the door behind us.
"I just wanted to let you know a little more about healing."
"Ok." I say slowly.
"Cole will be able to read your mind. He will…practically relive the events, the trauma. He will be able to feel what you felt and know what you were thinking at the time. But I know Cole, he has done this a million times, you won’t be able to embarrass him and you shouldn’t be embarrassed." I draw in a long breath.
"Ok." I say again.
"You can trust us. You can trust him." She says with meaning.
"Yeah, ok."

COLE P.O.V.

When Lucy gave me the signal I knock on the door and open it. I smile at Kasey and she smiles back. I don’t know what she had been crying about earlier, but I was sure I would find out soon. I would be practically reading her mind. But most minds worked the same, I’m sure I wouldn’t be very surprised. She didn’t know it but I was also picking out any information I could about the prince’s whilst I am in her mind. Lucy nods to her and leaves. I take a deep breath.
"You can lie on the bed if you want, Kasey. You will be almost…asleep. Kind of, through this. It won’t hurt though, I promise." Hesitantly I watch her cross to the bed and sit on it. I walk and sit next to her and slowly push on her shoulders until she was lying down.
"Close your eyes, you won’t feel a thing." I watch her thick eyelashes flutter closed then I slowly rest my hands on her shoulders and dip my head.

She was at a bar, hoping her friends weren’t planning on hooking up with anyone…
She was a smart girl, though she was at a bar at 16.
Her friends think someone’s hitting on her, she grinds her hips with another girl, thinking it merely funny…
She was young, she didn’t know how well that actually worked.
It was Derrick, she froze, she recognised him. He threatened her and her friends and led her outside. He touched her, kissed her, then black…
Hmm, she was right, what an odd power.
She woke up in a room, she was feeling confused. Justin was using vulgar language, she wasn’t used to that, and blushed. She felt weak compared to them. Derrick strangled her.
I watch in horror, and had to remind myself that she was in fact alive, with me now. I felt glad that I had killed Justin, he frightened her.
She wakes up, semi conscious. They talk, then leave. She visit’s the king.
I am disappointed, she doesn’t learn much.
Justin makes a move, she totally freaks. Derrick was her first kiss, she had never done anything like this before…
Wow, her first kiss at 16. That’s late. She is pretty, I wondered why.
Bax comes in. The next day was the ceremony, she is scared of the black robes and unfamiliar chanting. She becomes dizzy…
I knew this spell, that’s how I was able to break it. But there were a few differences in this one that I noted with attention.
She wakes up in a cell, shackled to the wall. The key…its just out of reach…
Poor girl, it must have been torture. Then I watch the rest unfold.
Justin visits. He says she is his pet now. He bashes her, throws her. Her chain stops her body, the immediate pain was intense, she deals with it well.
If he wasn’t dead I would kill him right now. I heal her slowly, as I watch the scenes unfold, her feelings coming through strong and clear.
He is messing with her, telling her to sit and play. She refuses and he hits her again. He walks away, laughing. She wondered how they were so strong.
My teeth grind together. I felt her completely and utter hopelessness. She had practically accepted death, but the panic was still strong. She didn’t know anyone that could help her, she never knew what she was doing was wrong, she thought she was ridding the world of evil. She was a good kid, she would make a kind woman.
Justin comes, he tells her he is going to rape her and drink her.
I suck my breathe in with her, that was harsh.
She was bashed, burned, tortured…
Fuck. This girl is actually dealing real well. It’s amazing how much people can change in a week. For that matter its amazing how much people can change in a day.

She was mostly healed now, feeling guiltily, I continue through her thoughts anyway. I pick up on what she thinks about us, that was important, if she trusted us or not. And a little about her past, only going back a week or two ago. Nothing much. I was tempted to look at some of her old hunts, but I was committed to good, and so pull out of her mind. I look at her peacefully sleeping face and shake my head. How could anyone ever want to hurt suck an innocent girl?

Kasey’S P.O.V.

I wake in the same bed, in the same room, but I was alone now. I was shocked by the immediate difference I could feel in my health. I close my eyes and relish in the feeling for a moment. I crawl into a ball and snuggle under the blankets. Then I stretch out. Nothing even hurt! Cole was good, I had had no reason to be afraid, he really was magical. I glance around the room. I could still see sun flooding in the sides of the drapes, but the temperature had dropped so I presume it would be sunset soon. I reluctantly crawl out of the comfortable bed and venture into the hotel room living area, wondering what I would find.

Surpsisingly Cole was the only one in the room, he was lazing on a couch, flicking through the many TV channels. He sits up straighter when he sees me leaning against the doorway, the remote drops from his hand, instantly forgotten.
"Kasey, how are you?" He asks, sounding sincere. I shake my head.
"Loads better, I can’t believe it." He relaxes a little more.
"That’s good."
"Actually I feel kinda pumped." He nods, looking thoughtful.
"Some people experience and adrenaline rush after having magic used on them."
"Actually I really feel like a fight." He laughs, then upon seeing my serious expression stops.
"Really?" He asks thoughtfully. I nod vigorously.
"There’s a gym upstairs. They have wrestling mats." I was instantly moving towards the door.
"Let’s go!"

"Ok, are you read?" Cole asks.
"I was born ready." I reply, raising my fists to a defensive stance. He shakes his head at my bad humour but smiles still. He doesn’t leave me another moment, he attacks. Holy shit, this man could fight! I took the basic Taekwondo classes for years, but never got beyond a blue belt. I don’t know what this guy did but he was way to fast for me. I thought I defended pretty well but within a minute he had me pinned to the soft blue amts beneath us.
"Holy shit, I fight vampires for yonks and it’s the one human I fight that can pin me to the ground!" I let out a breathless chuckle.
"You’d be hard done by to find someone who could beat me in a fight." I look at him, scrutinizing. I wondered how he could be so good at his age, he couldn’t have been more than thirty. We fight for about an hour before my energy boost had well and truly run out and I chose to save what dignity I had left after being pinned to the floor about a million times, and surrender. Cain bows when I tell him this.
"Another time."
"Yes, so you can beat me to a bloody pulp again."
"I would never." Cain objects with a smile. I return the smile, I had a plan. Maybe Cain (and/or the others) would train me. They were meant to be angels, maybe I could have someone that I might be able to rely on for help from now on. I decide to ask him at a later date, but was excited just at the thought of it.

Hey guys, sorry it took so long, and is so short. I hope its not too boring. I'm going to admit something.
I have the best chapters of this written up so far, I get tingles reading them they are so good.
But the only problem is they are about 3 chapters in front of what I just posted above
and I am having writers block for the link in the middle
So please bear with me if these chapters are a little boring, I'm trying my best
But I know you're gonna love it later
