The Vampires Pet- chapter 7

YOU KILLED MY BROTHER! I WILL FIND YOU! D...And that red paint looked an awful lot like blood. BUM BUM BAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My body started to move without any connection to my head. My mind was just frozen, I wasn’t thinking oh my god. I wasn’t thinking, I shouldn’t go up to mum’s room, I don’t want to see this! I wasn’t even thinking. D, for Derrick, I’m gonna kill him! I was just numb. But my body did move, invisibly and silently, up the stairs, moving through the cops and detectives without alerting them of my presence.

She looked so beautiful, my mother. Her body laid, sheets spread messily around her like she had fought. Blood making them look red but I knew they were supposed to be white. I couldn’t look at the gaping wound in her chest without being sick. So silently, I brush her hair away from her face and cry.
"Ex husband is in exactly the same position, dead in bed. Even the same message on the wall outside his house. Daughter has been missing for weeks, last seen leaving a night club with a tall, dark haired man in his mid twenties. Well built, caucasion." An officer reports to another lady standing there. She wasn’t in a uniform, maybe she was a detective or something. But only some of his words really registered in my mind. Dad.

I don’t run to his house, though I wanted to. I just walk. I knew there was nothing I could do. My heart was throbbing painfully.
Dad. Oh, dad!
He was in his favourite chair, it didn’t look like he had fought. But he was dead.
What if I had just contacted them? Let them know I was allright? They still might end up dead, but they would know that I was ok?
Am I really ok? Derrick might be here, waiting. I would never be able to show my face again.
They are dead.
How can they be dead?
I have to get out of here. NOW! No, I need to plan. I grab some of my stuff from my room, no one was in there. I grab clothes and my wallet and stuff. Then I run. As far away as I can.
