The Unwilling Bride (The END)
THE ENDING CHAPTER TO THE UNWILLING BRIDE. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT THE NEXT story begins in SCOTLAND!!!!!! Stay tuned!
Evelyn moved to her dresser as she ran her hand through her hair taking out pin after pin that was holding her hair up. Her hair became loose and it hung around her waist. She slowly stood up and moved behind the screen to change into her robe.
The killer took this opportunity in getting into the bedroom. He climbed over the window and hid behind a sofa. There he waited for Evelyn to close the window. When she came out from behind the screen she went over to the bed and began moving the covers but notices that the window was still open. She shook her head and went to close it and in that moment she felt someone covered her mouth with a cloth. She struggled against it. She tried biting his hand but he only tightened his grip on her.
Please God let Cameron come quick that was Evelyn’s last thought before blackness took hold.
Success! The killer now has Evelyn in his arms. He dropped a note on the bed making sure that Cameron would see it and when he heard Cameron whistling up the stairs to the bedroom he panicked so he pushed Evelyn under the bed dropping the covers to hide her completely. The killer assumed that nobody would see her for a while the sleeping medicine was strong enough to keep someone out for a few hours. Enough for him to kill Cameron. The killer jumped out the window and down to Lady Lucinda who anxiously asked him why he didn’t bring Evelyn.
"He came up the stairs. I had to hide her. She’s well hidden and will be out for more than a few hours, I assume. I have dropped the ransom note on his bed." He took hold of Lady Lucinda’s waist and led her away to Lakeland Cemetery where they stood waiting.
Cameron’s POV
Cameron walked into the bedroom and instantly his guts told him something was wrong and he became alert. The room didn’t seem to have any kind of struggle. The window was still opened. How odd…usually Evelyn would close it. He walked over and looked out the window into the empty dark sky.
"Evelyn?" Cameron turned around looking for her but soon he realized that she was not in the room.
He began to panic and his heart wouldn’t stop beating against his chest. He tried fighting the feeling that he has building in the pit of his stomach but soon it took control of his nerves, his mind, and his heart and he became anxious to finding her. He sat down on the bed and with a futile glance at the bed he saw that there was a small wrinkled piece of paper on the bed. He walked over and unraveled it.
Cameron,
I have your wife, Evelyn.
Meet me in Lakeland Cemetery.
If not by midnight. She will die in your place.
Cameron wrinkled the paper in his hand as his hand turned into a fist. He will kill that bastard if he laid a hand on his wife. He ran out of the bedroom and instead of asking the stableman to prepare him a horse. He ran to the stable and grabbed a horse himself. He rode the horse bareback at a neck breaking pace to Lakeland Cemetery.
When he arrived he slowly got off his horse and slowly walked up the steps to the cemetery. After reaching the final steps he notices a black movement to his right. He moved towards that.
"Come out!" Cameron roared. He was savaging now.
Someone chuckled and came out of the shadows. Cameron’s gaze fell upon him and hardened.
"Foolish Cameron. Now you will die for your stupidity." His cousin Lord Bailey raised his revolver and pointed at Cameron’s heart.
"Where is Evelyn?" Cameron shouted at him. He was more than angry. He was enraged.
"Evelyn? Well, for heaven sakes she is tucked safely under your bed, Cameron. Did you forget to look there?" He chuckled lightly. Cameron notices small hand wrap around Lord Bailey’s waist. He glanced behind Lord Bailey’s shoulder to see Lady Lucinda smiling connivingly at Cameron.
"Ah, Cameron? I told you...you would pay for this." She smiled and kissed Lord Bailey’s neck and licking it. Cameron was disgusted.
"You tricked me. Well played, Cousin." Cameron said soothingly. He was relieved that Evelyn was safe at home.
"Shut up! You are going to die! You should be begging for your life. I want what is rightfully mine, Cameron!" Lord Bailey said selfishly.
"It was never rightfully yours. Why would it? You are a gambler…someone who can not hold the family name. Someone who would drove us all into shame. You are a disgrace to us, Bailey." Cameron said his given name. He wanted to provoke his cousin to charge after him.
"You were the disgrace. You never deserved the title and to make it worst you slept with women at Harlem even this whore behind me you slept with!" Lord Bailey shouted.
"I did not sleep with Lady Lucinda. She however, slept with you and had turned you against me." Cameron continued.
"She did not put thoughts in my head. I have always wanted to do this. I have always wanted to kill you! You don’t deserve this just as your brother. You both deserve to die."
Cameron’s face flashed a sudden darkness when he heard about his brother’s death. His cousin smiled when he caught that sudden slip of composure.
"You know what Cameron? Since you are going to die I would tell you who killed your brother. I did. Lady Lucinda was with me. We poisoned your brother." His laughed turned evil and he chuckled.
"You killed Vincent?" Cameron’s voice hardened and it turned lowly dangerous.
"Why wouldn’t I? You two were the only one who was blocking my way from receiving the title." He said. Cameron had moved closer to him now that he was able to dodge the bullet and knock his cousin off guard but he wanted to know the truth.
"So that is why you tried to kill us?" Cameron asked.
Lord Bailey face turned confused. "Tried? I killed your brother successfully." He pointed out. "I saw him die."
"No you didn’t. He is still alive. Living at a safe place. I am the one who is suppose to finish this." Cameron used his left hand to snap Bailey’s elbow inward breaking it and making him drop the gun with one swift movement. Lord Bailey let out a yelp of pain. Lady Lucinda gaze turned horrified at the turn of events.
"Stay where you are, Cameron." Lady Lucinda said as she too took out her own gun.
"You tried to kill my family. You are a selfish bitch." Cameron knocked the gun out of her hand with his feet. Lady Lucinda screamed in pain as her wrist twisted. "I’ll let you two rot in hell."
Cameron tied Lady Lucinda up and moved to his cousin who still groped his elbow in pain. "We were cousins. I provided for you. You turned against me…." His voice broke as he let out a roar and beat Bailey up knocking him out cold in just a few hits. There he tied them both up and let them to his house. They stayed in the foyer as he jogged up the steps to his bedroom he ordered his servants to ignore their pleas. Whoever disobeys will be fired and put in prison. They all nodded their approval and gave Lucinda and Bailey disgusted look. They loved their lords and to see that these two were going to kill them the servants were disgusted.
Lady Lucinda shouted at him. "Let me go, Cameron! I did not mean to hurt you!"
"The authorities will come in the morning. Till then…I don’t ever want to see you." He walked up the steps to his bedroom and walked directly to his bed as he bends down to look under the covers. His wife lay sleeping soundly in bed. He slowly lifted her up and set her on bed to sleep.
The next morning the authorities came by and took obsessed Lady Lucinda and crazy Lord Bailey out to prison. Cameron told his wife everything of what had happened and the expression on her face was pure shock.
"I also haven’t been telling you the truth but this was to protect my brother. He is still alive." Cameron spoke and Evelyn covered her mouth with her hand.
"Where is he?"
"He is living with my aunt in the country side but he is back today and staying with his wife Amelia."
"I would like to see him someday, husband." She wrapped her arms around her husband tightly as they took their walk in the park.
"I will take you there tomorrow to see them. He is excited to see who had captured his little brother’s heart." He kissed the tip of her nose and she smiled softly at him.
"I love you, Cameron."
"I love you, my unwilling bride."
