Azrea looked at him with confusion painted on her face yet again, "I just walked in. How else does one-" but she was cut off yet again.
"That’s not what I mean," he said spitefully, "In this world you can’t just waltz into some ones house or territory without their permission. You can’t even get a fingernail past their sanctuary boundary without their say so," When he was done he could see Azrea was still perplexed and before she could say anything he decided to take a different approach on things, "Ok never mind on that. Just tell me everything that happened between the time of you finding me and you bringing me here," the boy said with a little less venom in his voice. So Azrea did just that; she told of how she found him and about patching him up. Azrea blushed slightly when she told of having to rip her shirt in half, but it didn’t seem to even faze him, so she continued. Throughout the whole time Azrea was talking the boy stayed silent and didn’t even bother to show any emotion. And even after Azrea was finally done the boy didn’t speak for another minute or so.
"Have you been able to do this before? Just walk into someone else’s territory without any problems?"
"Yes," after some thought, "there was a village that was near the cave, but no one ever mentioned such a thing," Azrea explained," Or even said what I did was unusual."
The boy was silent for a few more minutes before answering in a matter a fact tone," Well then your ether not all human or you have a gift that allows you to do such a thing," the boy stopped and looked Azrea up and down, "Well there’s no going back to your own world and with the way you look most creatures that see you will want to ether possess you or eat you. " As quick as a snake his somewhat calm demeanor changed again to harshness. "So…..get the hell off my territory and find your own sanctuary. I defiantly don’t need any more problems; especially ones that involve an annoying girl,"
This brought Azrea’s anger roaring up again, "You cretin, I save your life and in return you kick me out?! No wonder you live alone. You probably are a total jerk to everyone and drive them away. Well then live alone, see if I care," Azrea had meant to hurt him, but the pain that went across his face was so quick and violent but it was covered quickly by his hard face filled with hate.
"Shut the hell up," he snarled threatening to attack Azrea. She knew he could not hurt her, but even so she cringed out of fear, "You know nothing of me and if you ever say such a thing again I swear I will tear you apart so fast you won’t even have time to plead for your life. Now get out of here I don’t want anything to do with the likes of you,"
For an instant Azrea was shocked into silence at how much hatred and rage that this person could hold, she had never see anything like it in her life and it just stunned her. Then her shock was pushed away by her anger, "Fine next time I see you near death I will just leave you to bleed out and get eaten by whatever horrible creature could gag your rotten hide," She snarled and stomped past him to dart out of the room at a run soon eating up the ground that had taken her hours before to reach. Azrea didn’t look back or slow her pace as she made her way out through the tunnel.
She only started slowing when she was more than half way through the cave and by the time she came to a complete stop she was at the cave entrance. Azrea looked to the ground and guilt went through her. ‘I had judged the boy and got mad at him not even knowing his story,’ she thought to herself as shame welled up inside her, ‘I know I would hate that if someone did that to me. I should probably go back and say sorry. Even if he doesn’t let me stay, it will still make me feel better.’ Just as she was about to turn around two large objects fell from the sky and made an tremendous amount of noise only ten feet in front of her. Her scream was drowned out by the dragons’ loud roars that only managed to scare Azrea more.
The two dragons quieted down and looked around, that is when Azrea recognized them as the ones that had flown over her the day before when she was lost in the forest. They were even bigger then they had looked when they were in the sky. Azrea guessed they could be comparable to small jets. Suddenly both dragons looked Azrea’s way at the same time and let they both let out a low growl. Azrea backed up and nearly ran into something. When she looked she saw to her astonishment that the boy had come to the cave entrance; she also noticed he had changed his pant yet again. Azrea saw that the boy was looking at the dragons with what one might say smoldering anger and she looked back at the dragons. Azrea then had to wonder what had happened to this boy to hate everyone so much.
As Azrea watched the two dragons she saw something was starting to happen. The two red dragons were slowly shrinking and a mist of some sort was now pooling around them. All too soon the mist covered them completely and no matter how hard Azrea looked she couldn’t see them at all. Then two silhouettes emerged from the clingy mist everything they did was the same and so it made them look like they were the same person. Both boys had brownish red hair that went slightly past their chin. Azrea could see their eye colors now, which were a dark green, because they were getting closer. These boys, to, had the clothes of her world on and Azrea made a note in her head to ask about it later.
Azrea could see that under their clothes their bodies were just as well-built and refined as the other boys’. In all actuality, except for their hair, they looked a lot like the boy standing beside Azrea. There was another difference between them; these boys didn’t have the arrogant manner the boy did. Instead their manner suggested mischievous play; and they only slightly let Azrea detect that they were powerful and dangerous.
Suddenly the boy beside Azrea gave a very addible growl that made the other two boys stop. They shifted their gaze from Azrea and glared at the other boy as If just realizing he was there. Something in their stance and manner changed; for now they looked like they could kill someone and not be bothered by it in the least. They also felt more threatening and Azrea was again little unsure and a lot scared.
"Brother," they said flatly in unison, inclining their heads in.
Surprised, Azrea looked from the twins to the boy beside her and back to the twins again. Now she realized why they looked so alike, but Azrea was a little confused as to why they were treating each other so coldheartedly.
"What are you two doing here?" the boy beside Azrea growled.
This time when they spoke they didn’t say everything together; instead they took turns talking, each finishing the other ones sentence, "Well..."
"We are here because we wanted…"
"To meet this girl that you…."
"Invited into your territory."
"We were just curious…"
"About this person since you don’t…"
"Really let anyone in."
"Don’t worry, we just…"
"Wanted to say hi, but we do wonder…"
"Is she close to you?"
"Or is she closer?"
"Could she be your mate?" this time they said in together and a mischievous grin spread a crossed their faces.
"I can assure you that I would never take someone like her to be my mate. Now get the hell out of here before I diced to skin you alive," the boy said with more venom them usually, if that was even possible.
They put their hands up in mocking surrender, "now, now there is no reason to be so bitter. We haven’t done anything to you…yet" they said as smiles played on their faces.
A growl was the only answer they got from him and without another word he started heading back into the cave. Just as the dark almost swallowed him up he stopped and looked back at Azrea, "come on," he said with a scowl on his face. Azrea followed without question sure it was safer with the devil she already knew then the two she didn’t and they both made their way back to the big entrance. Azrea could hear the twins yell after them, but, like the boy, she ignored them. As they crossed the big entrance room Azrea finally spoke up, "So why did you want me to follow you?" She asked with puzzlement thick in her voice.
The boy didn’t stop when he answered, "Because why would you want to hang out side with those idiots? That and because I’ve decided you can stay here for now,"
"What made you change your mind?" Azrea asked keeping up with the boys’ quick pace.
The boy stopped at the intersection of tunnels and turned to face Azrea, "I changed my mind because if my other brother was near, and he isn’t usually too far away from then dynamic idiot duo, then he would have killed you,"
"But he can’t hurt me because of the seven day protection," Azrea stated before the boy could continue walking.
"No, he can’t hurt you, for now but he can capture you and wait for the seven day protection to wear off and then attack you. And don’t look at this like I’m being nice to you or anything," he said begrudgingly turning away, "I just don’t like it when others get hurt when it has nothing to do with them. Now you will be sleeping in one of the extra rooms and no getting in my way or bothering me unless it’s an emergence," the boy said as he started toward his room, "Also I don’t want you in my room at any time. If you need me that desperately then call for me,"
"Wait," Azrea called and the boy stopped, "I don’t know your name so I can’t call you if I need you,"
Azrea could just barely hear the boy sigh in exasperation, "My name is Syrian," and with that he was swallow up by the darkness.
