The Symptoms of Fibroids

There are a lot of misconceptions about fibroids and exactly what they are. I'll give you a full break down of symptoms, so you have a better understanding of them.
I wanted to talk to you about the symptoms of fibroids because a lot of people really don’t know much about this condition. This is something that only women get. Basically it is when they get a tumor growing around their reproductive organs and that causes trouble. The tumor itself is benign and completely non-cancerous, but the existence of it causes trouble for women. The actual size of the fibroid can vary over time, so that means some days you’ll be completely find and symptom free, but other days you’ll have issues. I’m going to discuss the symptoms of fibroids with you, so you better understand this problem.

Heavy Menstrual Bleeding: Typically a woman will experience her period for a period of four or five days. Obviously the length of this can vary for each woman. When there is a fibroid in the mix, the bleeding can last for many more days. The bleeding will be much heavier, which will require changing tampons at much more frequent intervals (sometimes hourly).

Pelvis Pressure: There is going to be obvious pressure on the inside around the pelvis area. Some days will be worse than others depending on whether the fibroid is growing or shrinking in size. This pressure actually leads to a number of additional symptoms of fibroids. This includes: frequent urination, abdominal pains, cramping, constipation and even pain during sexual intercourse.

Infertility/Miscarriages: Your ability to get pregnant will really depend on where the fibroid is located. For a lot of women they’ll be unable to conceive a child. For those that can get pregnant, you have a very high risk of having a miscarriage sometime through the pregnancy. This can be one of the worst symptoms for a lot of younger women since they will have the maternal instinct to have children and they won’t be able too.

I want to end this by giving another important piece of information that isn’t classified under a symptom. When medical researches compiled statistics on women who suffered from fibroids, they found an alarming statistic; black women are more susceptible to ending up this condition when compared the same groups of women in other races. I thought this was a very important piece of information to share with you.
