The Strange, Lonely Life of Brian Davies - Part IV
It's been awhile.Sorry.
Jeff was as patient as he could be in answering Brian's seemingly endless barrage of questions. Unfortunately, he didn't have as many answers as Brian was looking for. "This is why we don't show ourselves more often. The living always expect us to be encyclopedias of the afterlife. The truth is that I don't know much more than you do. I know there is an afterlife, for obvious reasons, but that's about it. I assume there's a God, but we haven't met, and I don't know which of the religions, if any, paints the most accurate picture of him, although I'm pretty sure the Amish aren't the ones. How can you be damned to hell for owning a toaster? That's just dumb."
"But there is more to it then this limbo that you're in isn't there?" Brian asked "Everyone whoever died isn't still walking the earth scaring the crap out of people while they're showering, right?"
"Sure, I think. Most go somewhere, I just don't know where. I believe it has something to do with excepting your death. I've seen souls leave their bodies. It's like a mist. Most have a calmness about them, a serenity, and then 'poof' they're gone, but some..." he hesitated as if recalling something quite horrific "...some go instantly mad. They fly into rages and strike out at the living and the dead. You need to listen to what I'm about to tell you here because your life depends on it. Now that I've shown myself to you you're going to become more away of the spiritual world. There are a lot of us here. Those who were born dead, like us, are okay, but anything else will kill you if it realizes you see it, so do not under any circumstances let on that you do. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, but what else is there? Will I know when I see them?"
"Oh yeah you will definitely know. There's us, the insane spirits, and the aborted, and we all stand out in a crowd."
"The aborted?"
"Yeah. Stay away from them Brian. They're very dangerous."
