The Stove Is Lit Again
Love sometimes catches you by surprise. I wrote this rather quick for my special someone so it may not be as thought out as my other poems. Comment please!
Close the door
Light the stove
It's struck me
Weighted love
Turn the knob
Pull the switch
Heat the coal
I'm feeling rich
I'll take her heart
Hold it close
Care for her
She's my rose
I'll wipe the tears
From her cheek
When she feels my love
No need to speak
My heart is black
Hers is too
I'll take her hand
And say I love you
She says "Let go,
I don't deserve you"
I say "No,
It's just me and you."
We'll make mistakes
We'll share the pain
She'll feel my love
She'll make me sane
So turn the knob
Pull the chain
Be careful, Its hot
The stove is lit again.
