The Station
This is a poem about my girlfriend and the day we spent with each other I know cheesy but this isn’t for anyone else but for her and I hope she loves it, and I hope you guys enjoy it too
The early morning mist rose from the tracks as if it were a sleeping dragon,
The trains come through and pass when arriving and departing
The lanky fellow huddled around his cigarette
Awaiting the train that brought his love back.
The long awaited day to him lasted merely seconds but his watch shown hours had passed.
Her face was rosy her hair was dark, with a hint of laughter that haunted her heart
She ran to catch him by surprise
The cigarette fell but the ribbons of smoke clung to the frost bitten night.
The ribbons danced like ghost from the past
As they held each other close longing for it to last
Afternoon came and the sun was dancing in the heavens full of agility and grace
The shores were calm and the wind whispered the romantic echoes of the day.
They lay in each other’s arms without a word breaking the incognizant gazes they shot each other.
Those longing to be with each other for ever more.
The phantom light house lay behind them, the grass underneath,
Sky above and the love somewhere in between,
He tackled her to break the vow of silence and longing.
Walking hand in hand they reached the tracks once again.
The late night mist was gone but the frost bitten air was laden with melancholy
The trains come and pass when arriving and departing,
The lanky fellow huddled around his beautiful love,
The cigarette smoke still danced in the midnight ball
Ghosts in harmony, twirled slowly and softly
Like the locks of her hair, but they both knew the facts
As they awaited the train that will whisk away his lover back.
The trains come through and pass when arriving and departing
The lanky fellow huddled around his cigarette
Awaiting the train that brought his love back.
The long awaited day to him lasted merely seconds but his watch shown hours had passed.
