The Six-Legged Dog
It's a poem that I wrote starting from a given first and last line.
If you didn't see the six-legged dog
You're the most sober person in this place
Why, it's right next to the counter
I've trampled over it three times
On my way to the toilet
One pair of legs and swoosh, my right foot bounced back
And my left side then collided
With the black-dressed bartender
And then, another pair of legs
And another
Six legs, I tell you
You don't cross them every day
And if you're scared of giant caterpillar bites
Caress its ears
Scratch it behind them
Try looking a dog like that in the eye.
