The SE Aino, the Last Word in Style and Function

The PSP is dying, if not dead and the Sony Ericsson’s new Aino smartphone is not about to revive or resurrect the PSP. But to a lot of observers, the new Sony Ericsson AIno may be the next best thing to happen for the mobile gadget market from Sony.
A lot of Firsts

Sony Ericsson is arguably the reigning king of entertainment mobile phones. It has undisputed leadership in the camera phone category with the incorporation of Sony’s Cybershot technology into its mobile phones. It remains a force to reckon with in the MP3 mobile markets with its Walkman line of music phones.

With the new Aino, Sony Ericsson pushes the envelop for innovative mobile phone experience with the following:

• The Aino is the first mobile phone from Sony Ericsson with Remote Play – a feature that allows the AINO to remotely control a PS3 gaming console over Wi-Fi or through the Internet. You can then watch videos on your Aino handset from the PS3
• There’s the new MediaGo that pulls media files off your PC or laptop over Wi-Fi or Internet every time you charge the handset.
• First ever Sony Ericsson to use the microSD memory card

Strikingly a great looker

With a 3-inch Screen, the AINO takes on the market for large screens with great panache. It comes as perhaps one of the sleekest, sexiest and most beautiful Sony Ericsson mobile phone to come out in years. While its P-class phones had not been seen new models lately, the new Aino assumes the company’s flagship that’s as full-featured as any in the high end mobile phone market.

It's got a 3-inch screen that dominates the façade with its brilliant colors thanks to supporting 16 million colors on a WQVGA resolution display. There’s an accelerometer sensor commonly found in mobile phones in this class enabling the AINO to automatically shift from portrait to landscape and back by tilting the handset accordingly.

A great multimedia phone

It’s an 8mpx camera phone with stabilization and Face recognition – features that are fast becoming standard among high camera phones. Auto focus, LED flash, 16x digital zoon and red-eye reduction are standard. And there’s VGA resolution video capture at 30fps assisted by video stabilization features. Fr the multimedia novice, basic photo and video editing applications get bundled with the phone.

It's a 3G GSM phone to start with. It supports high speed network protocols like HSUPA and HSPDA for truly blazing speeds for mobile phones on the Internet. Internet browsing with instant access to Facebook, YouTube and Google applications benefit from these high speed data connection.

Verdict

This is a great design milestone for Sony Ericsson that is sure to give its fans in the high end markets a wonderful option for a leading edge mobile that is beautiful besides.
