The Saddest Thing
No one truly saw...
No one noticed
the pain behind my smile.
I smiled so they couldn't see
the turmoil that lied inside.
I decided that making other people happy
was better than
letting them see me hurt.
I was too strong for that.
I put up concrete walls.
Not to keeps others out
but rather to keep them from seeing.
Without seeing
they saw no need to help.
Without anyone's help
I fixed my broken heart
and it has stayed whole
because I had mended in on my own.
My heart is stronger
but now I feel nothing.
the pain behind my smile.
I smiled so they couldn't see
the turmoil that lied inside.
I decided that making other people happy
was better than
letting them see me hurt.
I was too strong for that.
I put up concrete walls.
Not to keeps others out
but rather to keep them from seeing.
Without seeing
they saw no need to help.
Without anyone's help
I fixed my broken heart
and it has stayed whole
because I had mended in on my own.
My heart is stronger
but now I feel nothing.
