The Purple Shroud
Have you ever given the 'night' a thought? What a beautiful gift! Sleep and rest works wonders on frayed nerves and brings hope of a brighter day...

And we thank God above;
For health and ugly scars,
For home and treasure cove.
For all the senses do perceive,
For renewed wants and needs;
We thank and quickly leave,
Older ones for fresher deeds.
For food and clothing we show
Loving acts and earnest gratitude;
For courage and pearly glow
We praise with songs of fortitude.
But take a while and think what if,
There was no rest after each day?
No respite, and tired muscle stiff,
With no refreshing, restful spray.
We need to also bless the night,
And watch every moonlit cloud
Pass above, and clear out of sight,
Resting beneath the purple shroud.
