The Puppeteer

Being in an abusive controlling relationship is hard when you want to get out.
Please don't break me,
My skin bruises easily,
My heart is not a play toy,
It can feel the heat,
When your fire burns me,
It breaks away all the things,
That I can't comprehend it,
Singes all my loose strings.

My heart falls down,
To the puppeteer,
It makes noises,
Out of its growing fear,
I cannot believe,
The person that protected me,
Wants to see me hurt and bleed,
Fly little birdy,
You're free.

Tied to depression,
In your chains,
Feeling oppression,
Leading by your pain,
My body will never be the same,
Neither my heart,
It won't ever feel love again,
I'm waiting for someone,
To help me by,
I'm just living out this moment,
Until this birdy can fly.

My heart falls down,
To the puppeteer,
It makes noises,
Out of its growing fear,
My soul's on ice,
Already broken twice,
All down to the puppeteer,
Evergrowing lasting hate,
Resides within my mind,
And I know that,
When it's my time to go,
It's always do or die,
I cannot believe,
The person that protected me,
Wants to see me hurt and bleed,
Fly little birdy,
You're free.

Broken bones,
And heartbeat trace,
Takes me back,
To my haunted places,
Torn down dreams,
And dreary faces,
Takes me back,
To my haunted places.

My heart falls down,
To the puppeteer,
It makes noises,
Out of its growing fear,
I cannot believe,
The person that protected me,
Wants to see me hurt and bleed,
Fly little birdy,
You're free.
