The Pull Chain In The Box

This poem is about a depressed/suicidal person who is on a desperate hunt for the key chain, which will open the medicine chest. She hides her search by calling the key chain, a pull chain.
The Pull Chain In "The Box"
You know the one
There is a pull chain inside
It is not there for fun
It is there to deceive someone

The pull chain has the power to check me out
Whenever I need to get about
When I don’t know what to do and need help
It’s like having a secret place a secret face

I am in the box now and I cannot find the pull chain
It was right in the corner the last time I was…
Where did it go?...Did you hide it, Lord?
My patience have been provoked
A joke I am willing to overlook, if…
You tell me where you put
The key chain…I mean the pull chain

Hey…Do not walk away, all right
I have been looking for the key chain
Yes, thee chain with the key
The one to the med. box indeed
The box with the lock, I mean, pull chain
Do you have the KEY?

Wait, don’t leave me...please
I am confused
Tell me where I can
Find that damn chainkeythinghelpmeoo?

Something feels wrong
I feel exposed and ashamed
Someone might suspect that
I am desperate or deranged
People fret at my unstable brain

He thinks I am well because I’m good in bed
She says I look great when I wear red
A friend gave me praise because I let her cat in last night
Others think I’m well because I have perfect eyesight

The trash in my head is screaming too loud
The walls I have hit could tell you about
They hold secrets I can only scream in my dreams
I feel I need to shout…

"Everyone—Get Out"

"(Unless you know the whereabouts)"

Forget The Damn Pull Chain Key Thing…

I NEED A TIME OUT
