Chapter 9: The proof
Zom nodded his head in agreement, he lead us to another room. The room felt ice-cold the minute I stepped into it. Zom pointed to a machine that looked like a television on the outside, except it was much bigger and there were no keys or buttons to switch it off or on, also it was just a screen, I waved my hand on the other side of it and saw my hand clearly. I wondered how it worked, and more. "On," Commanded Zom, suddenly the screen switched on and started showing all symbols on it. "Find Sarah Diamond and show her to me." He commanded once again. How did he know my mother's name? (Probably the way he knew Becky's and mine.)
"How?" I asked Zom, astonished. "Simple, our machinery gently puts tracking devices onto every human on earth, when they are born, without them knowing. The tracking device is put on their tongue," I instantly felt around on my tongue, sort of panicking. Zom gave a laugh. "No, no, no, don't worry it is so small and harmless that even your human-like microscope wouldn't detect them. We just do that so in case in an emergency we can find who we want, where they are." I took a breath in and calmed myself.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Yelled the machine, it found Mom! "Sarah Diamond is in her car going to fetch her daughter at school, she is back to normal sooner than expected." The machine told us. "I'm here, not at school!" I said worrying a bit. "And again don't worry! It's a substitute, so that your family goes to the police looking for you." Said Zom, I felt much better. "Oh and Rebecca also has a substitute."
I walked out the room and told Becky what I have seen and been told. She was speechless when I finished. "Okay, now you got your proof, now you will help us." Flinch told us. "Yes we will." Becky promised, I smiled at Becky, she smiled back. Flinch and his brother collapsed on the couch, we did the same. "Now you two girls will need a lot of help with your journey ahead." Zom noted. "That's why we are going to be with you, helping you fight against the Figglers." Flinch added.
