Chapter 14: The Gift

Becky pushed me under a bright beam, I shut my eyes then a few minutes later I was back at school. Becky was at the tuck-shop getting her hot dog. I turned around quickly and saw Becky still standing there. Relief surrounded me. I said good-bye to Sammy and went to Becky "Hey Becks! Did that really happen?" I said feeling my neck, there were no stitches. "Yip" Becky said with mustard dripping down her chin. She wiped it off with her serviette. "The Figglers told me before we left that they gave me a little present, do you know anything about this?" I asked her. "Yip, they said when you were unconscious, before you woke up that every few million years a new threat comes to end all the Figglers lives, but in that same year a hero comes and saves them. They said you were that hero."
"B-but I didn't save anyone. I didn't do anything." I told her very confused.

"They said they could see what kind of person you were, they knew you would have helped if you were able to, they say you never gave up and you didn't forget about what happened, they say you fought to save a friend, to save a nation even though you were trying to save the wrong one." She stopped and giggled. "The Figglers also said that every few billion years the Figglers can come together and create a new ability. But you see the problem is that they can't all have this ability. Only one can. They chose you."
"Okay" I said trying to understand everything Becky had said.

"The ability they gave to you was the ability to see the future and stop any bad things from happening before they do. As they said before, you couldn't do anything to stop the Rolions and if you knew, you would have been able to save the Figglers. Now they said that nothing will go wrong in your life as you will know what will happen. And I'll be your side-kick!" she laughed at her own joke.
"that's really cool Becks, but how do you explain my stitches not being here?" I said showing Becky my neck where the stitches used to be. "They have healing powers, remember?" Becky joked.

My life will never be the same again, I now see if bad, or good things will happen. If I pass my maths test or if my classmate hurts herself, but now I can stop bad things from happening. It feels good being able to do that.
