The Prayer of the Enlightened

After reading Fahrenheit 451 I couldn’t help but agree with Ray Bradbury about how our education is just plummeting and it seems like no one is caring about this situation.
We covet things we can’t have
And beg the saints to understand
The voiceless prayers of the masses
For the answers to our questions
"Doesn’t it bother you?" they ask
"That you keep trying to everyone else"
Or help them run from their past?
"You’re too busy saving everyone else when will you ever save yourself?"
Save yourself from all the thoughtless conversations
About the wars being fought?
Or the mindless ideas being taught?
We covet most things but knowledge is not one
See the world can’t be saved with bullets alone!
The world takes a back seat to the brand new phones
For once believe in change
Believe in knowledge
Believe in truth
Not something blurred and misunderstood
But something we can learn from our books
Through that, the voiceless prayers will be granted
And the mindless prayers answered.
