The Nokia 6500 Slide Mobile Phone - Quick Review
Nokia have come out with some beautiful designs in phones and their 6500 slide is one that does them justice. It comes packed with features albeit the phone is a little on the chunky side as slide phones go. However while it is not in the "super model" class when it comes to slimness, it does feel nice and solid in the hand.

However one word of warning, do not get the Nokia 6500 slide and the Nokia 6500 classic confused. They share the same model number! However the two phones are a million miles apart when it comes to their functionality. The "slide" has some of the latest technology, whereas the "classic" has only basic features.

The 6500 slide is a must for music lovers as it features a pretty impressive media player. However to take full advantage of the fabulous music player you will need to install a microSD memory card in the phone, as it only has a mere 20MB of internal memory for storage. The phone can take up to a 4GB card and this allows for plenty of storage for music/videos and files. The music player is very responsive and has a great graphical interface; the included headphones are comfortable and even better, produce outstanding sound quality.

Fans of phone cameras will love the 3.2 megapixels that the Nokia 6500 slide offers. Even though it is only 3.2 megapixels as opposed to 5 megapixels, it does the job perfectly. The photos are good enough to be printed out at a size of around 8 x 6 inches, with excellent autofocus taken through a Carl Zeiss lens. There is also a smaller camera situated on the front of the camera that is used for video calls and as the phone comes with 3G connection it works perfectly. Videos can also be taken with the main camera, although these are a bit of a let down as they tend to be a little jerky and rather blocky.

One of the most outstanding features packed into the phone which is a very pleasant surprise is TV output. The mobile comes with an AV lead, which plugs directly into the headphone socket on the phone and of course then connects to the TV. This allows you to do anything on the phone directly on your TV screen; it is an excellent way to show off photos and videos or even to play the music stored on the phone through the TV speakers.

While there are many excellent features on the phone, sadly it is also let down a little by weaknesses. The first of these is the mere fact that is does feel chunky in comparison to many of the slider phones on the market. However sizes is not everything, and if you can bypass this and even prefer something a little on the heavier side, then it is definitely worth considering. While the TV out is an innovative feature not found on many phones, watching any videos taken with the camera on your TV only magnifies how poor the video quality of the phone really is, although music sounds great and photos generally look good.
