The Night Before Halloween

So this is my first story! Hope you like it!!!
It was a small dimly lit shoppe. Halloween decorations hung from the low ceilings and the scariest of all masks hung upon the dark walls. The floors were severely damaged and it was dead silent. Kitty's hot pink Converse shoes tapped against the cracked linoleum flooring, which echoed loudly. She slowly walked between the aisles of terrifying costumes that the new Halloween shoppe, All Hallow's Eve, owned.

Kitty seemed to be the only other person, besides the cashier, that was in there. She waltzed over towards a corner of horrifying mannequins. The dim lights over her head flickered on and off, but this didn't bother Kitty at all. Kitty carefully observed each of the rubbery masks. She picked up a few and tried some on, but none seemed to fit her style. Biting her lip, Kitty stepped towards one mannequin that seemed out-of-the-ordinary. She squinted her eyes to get a closer look, although she knew that that never worked. Extending her hand to touch the realistic hair, a young man leaped out with a Freddie Kruegar costume on. Kitty yelped and stood in shock briefly before realizing it was her best friend, Cameron. Angry, Kitty approached her friend who was bursting with laughter and slapped him clear across the mask.

Cameron held his hand to his face, symbolizing that her slap had hurt him, "I was just having a little fun, you know!" He sighed and continued, "This store has some of the best costumes I think I've ever seen! Don't you think so? The masks are very realistic and the decorations are great! I don't see why we don't keep this one open!" 'Cameron seems excited about this one... It is really great though.' Kitty thought. "Yea, it's a really neat store. Now have you seen Kalli anywhere? She was supposed to be here..." Cameron nodded his head 'no' and he took off his costume. The only sound available to hear was the two pairs of hot pink and blue Converse that echoed throughout All Hallow's Eve. Kitty flung the double-door open, only to blind Cameron and herself with the afternoon's sunlight.

Kitty tapped her foot just as her mother would if she were angry. Kalli was late and this displeased Kitty, but she understood why. Katherine and Kallison Emmerson were fracternal twins. Kitty was blessed with beautiful dark brown hair and a tendency to be early. Kalli was stuck with white blond hair and the tendency to be fasionably late. It also didn't help that Kalli held on to everything, memories and items. Rita Emmerson, Kitty and Kalli's mother, died when the girls' were 12. Now they were 13 and Kitty had moved on, but Kalli was still moping about on it. Kitty impatiently flipped her long brown hair.

The town looked nearly deserted from where Cameron and Kitty were standing. Cameron took his seat against the window of All Hallow's Eve. "So... Are we going through with our plan for tonight?" Cameron asked to start a conversation with his best friend. "I suppose so, but it's not set in stone quite yet. That's why we're meeting with Kalli. To make sure she's still up for it," Kitty looked behind her then down at Cameron, "Just be patient." Kitty turned her head back towards the shimmering sidewalk to the right of her.
She sighted the crimson tanktop Kalli had been wearing and approached her.
Is it a good start?
