The New Kid - Chapter 13: Feeling Useless... But Still OK...

Hmm what will happen next?
Desi here,
Hey guys!!!! I cannot say thank you enough for all of your insanely awesome comments!! I want to say welcome to chapter 13!!! Thank you for staying with me for so long!!! I know this chapter is rather short and... well, you'll see... The next chapter should go better but I'm having a little writers block... I'm not superstitious, but "unlucky" 13 sounds to fit here. If you all have ideas, then comment about them and let me know! I love to hear from you.
Madason: Haha! You make me laugh. I love your long comments!!!!! Thanks, I think I'd want to get up if it were Blake too!! I'll have to put a picture of what I think he looks like up on a chapter... Ariel and Claire too!
Karly: Yeah the ending was, but I wanted it to be him who woke her up when he wasn't even trying.... And thanks!! :P
Imani: SORRRYYY!!! Thanks for mentioning it! I totally forgot the book title!!! But I'm one of the few people on here who have names to their chapters, I hope it wasn't too hard to find.

Thanks to these people too for commenting on my last chapter: Bee, Katie, Scarlett, Court, Miranda, Monica, and Sokie.

I'm waiting for a few comments like always before putting up more. I have to know that people had a chance to read this! I'm waiting on you!! :) Thanks again you guys!! YOU ROCK!!! Enjoy "Chapter 13: Relief and Confusion"!!!

**Blake's Point of View**
I stayed up with her all night... she couldn't sleep. I guess a better word here would be... wouldn't. She wouldn't let herself fall back asleep; she didn't want to end up staying asleep again. Her mother was out cold, and her best friend and James were snoring. The doctors came in several times, which was comforting to her for some odd reason. They kept sticking her, asking her to do things, and poking at her, but she was happy.
Her words were slurred and confused, "Blllake, h-how long h-has it be-en?"
"Since what?"
"I've b-een," she paused to think of a word it seemed, "aw-away?"
"Almost two weeks."
"Oh." She was quiet again...
"You haven't missed much. I promise. Celeste is st-"
"Whhho?"
"Celeste, from the cheer team, you know the one that was in jail with Mike?" she had me worried for a second until she looked up at me with eyes full of fury...
"Miikke......" she said trying her hardest to sound angry. She remembered. I smiled at the amount of energy she used on that one word.
The doctors released her after a few days. She could walk fine, eat, and remember most things. Her speech was still slurred but not as bad as it was. We walked into school on her first day back together... she was nervous...

**Ariel's Point of View**
I still feel like I can't do much for myself, ha, I can hardly remember all my cheer team. I remember only the people I know best; they were Claire, James, Summer, my parents, and of course Blake. Blake was being so sweet, he walked me to every class I had; he walked me there even if he'd be late. He wanted to be sure I was ok. It was so sad to watch him force himself to let go of me.

When lunch came around, he got my food for me. I felt a little useless, but in a strange way it was nice.
"How are you doing?" He asked softly stroking my cheek gently. It immediately caused the blood to rush into my face where his hand was.
Looking away I replied "Oh, I'm alright."
He lifted my chin back up to look at him, "Are you sure?" I gazed into his deep brown eyes for what felt like hours... very, very short hours. I swear I could stay there for years, but the girl who spent every hour she could with me while I was...... away...... interrupted.
"Geez, Blake, give the poor girl some room." She turned to me "Don't worry, hun, I got your back." then smiled. I rolled my eyes and took a bite of whatever it was that Blake ordered for me. It was surprisingly good. haha, he knows me to well...

The rest of the school day had its ups and downs, but all in all I think it went pretty well, until it came to cheer practice. It was absolutely terrible... let me recap. After being in a coma for more than a week I'd lost some of the strength and knowledge I had. I am a base, meaning I'm the one doing a lot of the lifting and throwing. Summer, I think, trusted me a little to much. My other base, the one across from me helping me do the stunts was moving a lot faster than me, and poor Summer fell multiple times. The two of us caught her every time, but it was still dangerous to be doing this.
"Well, practice makes perfect..." Summer laughed nervously
"It's ok, I'll work on conditioning at home..." My words still felt like they were dragging on, but at this point I was so tired I just needed to go home and sleep. "I need to head home, Summer. I'm not feeling to well. See ya tomorrow." I called my mom to come pick me up seeing as my car was totaled and she wouldn't let me drive. I fell right to sleep when I hit my pillow.
