Lunch time here at Hollow Tree High is probably my favorite time of the day. Claire and I were already at the table waiting for the guys to come over. The four of us decided to sit at an empty table today, we invited Summer too. It was so much nicer this way, I thought.
"Blake is so cute, Ariel. He smiles every time he looks at you even when you're not looking back." Summer began to tell me.
"He does?"
"Yes!"
"That is too cute, I had no idea he did that!"
"Hello, my lucky charm!" Blake said trying to make me smile. I did which made him do the same.

"Hey, what are we? Chopped liver?" Claire came in.
"Of course not, babe." James said kissing her head and elbowing Blake.
"Sorry, Ladies; hello Claire, hello Summer, how are you?"
"Fine, thanks for asking," Claire replied while Summer just laughed.
We sat and talked through the rest of the hour. We talked about what we were doing this weekend, what movie we wanted to see, and things like that. It wasn't long before the bell rang. *BUZZ FUZZ RING*
Hmm broken bell? Ah well I hardly cared about that when I noticed Blake slipped his hand in mine. The heat of him being so close to me shot butterflies through my stomach and a smile slipping through my lips. He had to let go when the tardy bell rang because Mr. Canson was super strict. I really didn't want him to, but he pulled away from me slowly. That let me know he didn't want to either.
The end of the day came faster than I'd expected it to, I guess I was caught up in my own imagination. I wondered all day where Blake was taking me... what were we going to do?!

*Blake's Point of View**
She is so beautiful... I could hardly wait until 5, to pick her up! I was planning to take her out and about, doing whatever she wanted to do. I had arranged to take her to dinner as well, but that's about all I planned the rest was up to her. I had different options I would present, and I wanted this to be the best date she'd ever been on. I drove around the corner and rang her bell. She answered the door; her curly hair flowed in the evening breeze. Hmmm, I smiled.
"What?" she asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing... you look amazing."
"Thanks." She blushed and for a second; I thought maybe, just maybe, she likes me as much as I like her. I took a breath and lead her to the car.

**Ariel's Point of View**
He's the sweetest guy I've ever been out with. He took me to dinner first, since I was hungry. We talked for hours about what I liked to do, my favorite places to hang out, his favorite things, and all kinds of random topics. He'd asked which of three places I would most like to go next. He said he made reservations for ALL of them so I had my choice of things to do tonight. I chose to go bowling. We had so many interesting conversations with each other while we were there. With each pin fallen, a new question rose to the surface from one of us. It wasn't long before I realized it was 10:30. I promised my mom-to-be home by now and the alley was a twenty minutes away with no traffic!
"Blake! I have to get home! My mom is going to kill me!" Man, time had just flown away from me!

"Oh, you're right! Ha! She's gonna kill me."
"Uh, not if you drive away from our house fast enough."
He was racing to get me home. It only took us 15 minutes. I was shocked at his speed.
"Thanks for tonight, Blake"
"No, thanks for giving me the chance?"
"You're welcome, I need to get inside." I felt my body pulling closer to his with an intense speed, but I was in trouble enough.
He looked at the floor. "Oh yeah," then back up at me. "Good luck with your mom! See you tomorrow!"
"Yes, you will!"

I ran in the house closing the door as quietly as I could behind me, but I heard her footsteps slamming the floor around the corner. They got louder with each step. I thought about heading straight for my room like nothing happened, but it was too late. "ARIEL LEANNNE MCEVANS!"
"Yes, mom."
"WHAT IN YOUR RIGHT MIND -right mind HA!- WERE YOU DOING OUT SO LATE!!"
"Mom, it's only 10:45, I'm only 15 minutes late..."
"A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN FIFTEEN MINUTES, ARIEL!!"
"It's not like I was doing anything!" My voice began to rise.
"HOW DO I KNOW YOU'RE NOT LYING THROUGH YOU'RE TEETH? HOW DO I KNOW YOU'RE NOT LETTING SOME GUY GET YOU PREGNANT?"
"Mom, what is your problem? Ever sin-"
"WHAT'S my PROBLEM?"

"Let, me FINISH MOM!" She was silent at the sudden spike in my voice. "Ever since I've been going to this new school you've been all over me. You don't trust me anymore and I don't know what your problem is."
"AGAIN MY PROBLEM! WHAT THE -" she continued on her rampage for about 30 minutes, cussing here and there. I was finished with it and, at this point, furious at her. I couldn't stand a second in this house any longer.
"MOM, STOP!! I'M DONE LISTENING TO YOUR NOISE! AH!!! I'M GOING OUT... I'LL BE BACK LATER." I slammed the garage door behind me and left that house in my car. Maybe I can catch up to Blake, or visit Claire... It's not too late for her. I was driving partially blind. There were tears flooding my eyes... I didn't know where I was going... I just was. I was crossing an intersection at a green light and I heard a honking sound coming from my passenger side... there were only trees on my left I couldn't move. I was helpless in the split second it took for the head lights to get brighter... I heard a loud crash twice. The colors in front of me began to fade black...
