The New Guy, An Old Friend... What Does He Want? 04
Chapter Four.
Joey's POV
I went back inside and ignored the feeling in my gut telling me something bad was going to happen, I mean how much worse could my life get at the moment, the guy I loved even if he didn't know it was suddenly back in my life, my dad's also suddenly reappeared. And no one wants to tell me what the hell is going on.
Shaking my head I took a look at the boxing bag, and then to the door that led into the party. What the hell, I will have something to drink. I walked back towards the door and was just about to open it when two people come flying through it. They mumbled a quick sorry and continued on their way to wherever it was they were going. I would most likely say the room Max has out the back. I rolled my eyes and walked through the now open door, making sure I shut it behind me, I started scanning the crowd to see if I could find someone familiar.
I spotted Jesse's crazy hair and started to make my way towards him, as I got closer I noticed the other guys over there as well, looks like they were having shots. I wonder if they would mind if I joined in.
"Got room for one more?" I asked when I was close enough that one of them was bound to hear me.
"JOEY, of course we do" Jesse shouted back at me, like I was across the other side of the room instead of right in front of him. I shook my head and smiled.
He was crazy when sober but even worse when drunk. I slide on a stool next to him, as Caleb grabbed another shot glass out of the cupboard behind him. Sitting it next to the others he poured well actually I'm not sure what kind of alcohol it was, all I know is that it was clear, and it burnt as it run down my throat.
After a few more shots I began to feel the alcohol taking effect. Shaking my head to try to clear it, why on earth did I let myself drink. I looked around and saw that everyone looked pretty gone. Jesse was pouring yet another shot, I shook my head at him signaling that I had, had enough. I really shouldn't have had as many as I did. Looking at the group of us standing here I realized Caleb was the most sober. Walking over to him I whispered in his ear, that I was going to head home, and that I would call around tomorrow when they sobered up. He simply nodded and watched me walk out the door.
No one else noticed as I left, which I'm glad of. I don't need people trying to talk or touch me. I just want to get home. I knew that Caleb would make sure that they knew I was gone. It was colder outside since I left home. Pulling my hood over my hair I put my head down and started walking home. There was no one around. Thankfully. Luckily the gym wasn't far from home, so it didn't take me long to get home. I could see the lounge lights still on.
Just great, I thought. I bet that I'm going to get into another argument. Shakes head. I can't believe he thinks he can walk in here and just be my father all over again. I walked up the front path and pulled my key out of the pocket, unlocking the door, I had barely walked through it when the lecture started.
"Where have you been? Do you really think you can get away with going out until all hours of the night partying and carrying on without an consequences. I don't think so missy." He yelled.
I shook my head, took my shoes off and walked past him, as I was walking up the stairs I heard him yelling at me to get back down there he wasn't done with me. I really can't believe him. I was in no mood to deal with his shit. And my head had started pounding. I think I drank more than I thought.
Locking my door behind me, I changed out of my jeans and jumper into some comfy pajamas. I snuggled under the blanket, closing my eyes I began to wonder if I would get any sleep tonight with everything that's on my mind.
