The New Girl in Town

Cassie's family is filthy rich but with her mom wanting a change of scene they move to florida leaving her two best friends behind. she doesn't want to be flashy but can she manage to do that,
Cassandra Danvers is a 16 year old girl who now lives in Florida after she and her mom moved from san Francisco. She is a natural blonde by birth , the envy of every girl. Cassie was on the top of the popular pyramid at Oakland academy. She has two best friends a guy and a girl, Isabella Griffiths and Edward Scoot whose fathers are business partners with Cassandra's father. They both live in San Francisco though Cassie, as they called her, moved. They attended Oakland academy together till the summer of 2010 when Cassie moved.

Cassie was so devastated and wasn't used to meeting new people ,especially in a new town. One of her fears was to be on the bottom of the popular pyramid. Her poodle, Giselle was also nervous, she could feel it she barked.
At least she had everything a student WAS supposed to have in san Francisco, a car, a small poodle, a laptop and not leaving super cool clothes another bonus for her natural platinum blonde hair. Cassie knew she was average for a newbie in town. Now she was starting on a new school, how cool is that?

".....mom , I know, I know. I mean yeah! People can be unfriendly and I am not the type to care am I?. So I will just say have a great day at work ! See ya xxx", Cassie yelled over the wind as she jumped out of her mom's car to avoid more lectures about the so-called "New day at school".
"Uh, Cassie?, don't forget your car after school. Collect it at the garage, I'm sorry I can't collect for you today. Good day baby!", Mrs. Danvers called to her daughter who was half way to gates.

Cassie headed straight to the pastoral hub where she got her locker keys and timetable for the term. The lady at the pastoral hub had told her that she didn't expect her to be so .......and she hadn't finished. Could things get any more weirder?, first it was the stares she got after she entered the gates. Ha!!! That wasn't serious , she was a newbie.
As much as she could, Cassie avoided anyone as she went in search of her locker and luckily enough, she found it after some minutes of looking over the same place.
Then her blackberry rang, she took it out to check the number and when she saw who the caller was, she answered quickly with much relief.
"hello, Bella?", she whispered into the phone

"Yyeah , here. Is the school alright? is anyone talking to you? Are there many--", Isabella wanted to ask but Cassie cut her off before she could finish asking her questions.
"Whoa, chill out man. No one is talking to me and yeah, the school is "pretty" and acceptable. And the accent ! Babe, it's killing me", Cassie whined doing air quotes "well tough!, is Giselle with you? I miss that cute poodle so much", Isabella gushed.
Cassie remembered the day they came for the interview, how the head teacher had emphasized "no DOGS in my school" and how she had almost cried.
"The school doesn't allow dogs, I know right? At least they don't do uniform. Um , gotta go to class babe. Miss you so much", she cooed to Isabella as she blinked back tears threatening to come splashing down her face.

Cassie found her home room right as the bell rang. As she entered the noisy room , a deadly silence came upon the whole room that the form tutor looked up to see what had caused such an amazing silence.
"Oh, it's Cassandra Danvers, right? I am Mrs. Benson ,the science teacher ", the teacher smiled as she extended her hand," that was great physics you did on your interview. Well done!". Just great. Gushing over some flipping test everyone is sure to hate me. Cassie thought in horror as the teacher said it but the class wasn't paying attention to what she the tutor had just said. What a nice save!!!
"Ahem, listen up everyone, we have a new student, meet Cassandra Danvers.", Mrs. Benson had started to introduce her but resigned as the class groaned," well then Cassandra will introduce herself then. Won't you, love?".
"No problem ma'am", Cassie replied sheepishly embarrassed at how the teacher had blushed when the class groaned.

"Um , hello, my name is Cassandra Danvers as you know but my friends call me Cassie. I moved here from san Francisco and I'm gonna be staying here", she introduced herself to the whole class which was staring. Hello, Have you ever heard that staring is rude?
"Aww, I love the accent", a group of girls sighed in their corner.
Cassie went to her seat which was near the window and she had no partner to sit with. How sweet!
The bell for the lessons rang and cassie headed out not sure where to go. "hey newbie! Lost are we?", a voice drawled behind cassie. Cassie turned and found one of the guys in her class waving her timetable in front of her face. For a moment, cassie thought she was about to enter a bullying session. She wasn't sure of what to think or do so she just waited to hear what the guy was going to say.

"I'm Cole Sutton and you are cassie Danvers. Here , you dropped your timetable", the guy, Cole, handed over her timetable. "gee , thanks", she managed to bite back a "dude" in the end which sounded quite unusual to her and went on her way.
This was basically her first day and funnily enough, it wasn't what she had expected , it was above her expectations. As she headed to her locker, she received a text from Isabella saying she wanted photos of Florida and she also emphasized that cassie should include herself in the pictures. She laughed to herself because she was sure Isabella would freak out when she saw her recent pictures.

Back in San Francisco, cassie had been a girlie girl , obsessing about fashion and all but moving to Florida had flattened her interests down. She no longer wore mini denim skirts, she now wore track suits and hoodies so that people wouldn't draw much attention as she knew they would if she wore anything flashy.
At least my first day went well. Cassie thought to herself as the school bell rang meaning end of the day. She wrapped her coat tightly around her to shield herself from the wind outside the school buildings. Cassie stopped momentarily at the rails of the stairs leading down to the car park searching for her mother's car. She spotted it, a silver vw beetle, parked cozily near the entrance and went for it walking briskly.
