The New Angle - Prologue and Chapter 1
So she meets this new boy so far... but does he turn out to be what she really wanted?
Prologue
Life’s not always easy, we're faced with a challenge almost every day. Love is hard to come by, once you got it, it usually slips away, so you got to grab it, hold it and hope it stays. At the age of 8 I lost my dad, he wasn’t the healthiest, fittest person I knew, but he was always there. I was his little girl and now he is my guardian angel. I'm 16 now and attending high school. I have a small group of friends, they don’t always understand me but they're always there for me as I am for them.
Something changed one morning, no not the fact that high school got fun or anything, but it changed and for the better, might I add. As always I came late to the school, but I didn’t know that coming late to school would actually change my life. To be honest my life wouldn’t be as good as it is now, if I hadn’t heard his voice, to be honest I don’t know where I would be.

Chapter 1
She meets the guy of her dreams, she seems to like him but avoids his eyes. Avoids his stares, and avoids what he is.

The annoying smell of the school sick bay filled the air in the office, vomit, sweat and to add to it the smell of paper in the printer. I thought to myself I'm guessing every other school office smells like this. I hide my smirk from the office lady who had to put up with it for 5 days each week. She could tell what I was smirking at, though. I filled in a late slip, told the lady my name and was about to head off. Something caught me though, a voice not one that I’ve heard before.
"Hey my name's Jake South, I'm new here and I need my timetable, if you may." I wanted to turn to see who that voice belonged to, but I didn’t want to make it obvious. I looked down at the ground slightly tilting my head towards his voice. He was as pale as ever, he looked as if he was a ghost. But I loved it, his black hair was covering just a bit of his right eye, but he dressed sensible wearing a gray tight shirt showing some muscle and a pair of jeans with a side bag.
He was handsome and strong you could tell. I looked back at his eyes; he was staring at me, actually staring at me! I looked away as fast as I could and walked on with my head down. I wondered to myself if he was in my grade and if he had any classes with me. I didn’t want to gossip about him cause I'm sure everyone else already knew.
First class was good old science, sir was always grouchy and a pain in the butt, but hey can’t blame him his been a teacher for a while now he deserves to be grouchy. I knew my friends would have saved me a seat at the back with them, they know I'm usually late, so they do the normal routine of saving my seat. I smiled, and an image of Jake came to my mind. I know as girly as this sounds but he is so memorizing. Everything about him makes you want him.
The day went on as usual except for last period when I found out he was in my history class. I tried my best not to stare, but what are you going to do, I'm a girl with interests. I giggled to myself; Miss gave me a strange look and continued to read on about the titanic ship. I put my head down, and gazed at the image of the couple on the front cover of the titanic image on my worksheet.
Jake seemed to be doing the same thing, yes okay my eyes wondered away from the sheet, how can I help it. I put my head back down and thought about him for a minute, I don’t even know the guy, I don’t know if he has a girlfriend, I don’t know anything about him, I should just avoid him as much as possible. I packed up my stuff and stood up. The bell rang just as Miss finished the last sentence.
Jake was already up and walking off, I put my head down as I usually do and walked on "BAM". I ran straight into the guy I'm trying to avoid, his sneakers touching the tip of mine, his head still touching my forehead. Quickly do something, say something.
"Awhh." I cried out loud, pretending it hurt. I looked up right into his eyes, they were a sky blue and so beautiful. Shut up Jasmine, just shut up.
"Wow, I'm so sorry are you okay?" He grinned at me taking a step back, no longer touching my forehead, his sneakers no longer touching the tip of mine. But I smiled back and nodded my head.
"It's my fault are you okay?"
"Yerp I'm all good, your name’s Jasmine right?" He smiled a small smile. But wait WOW how did he know my name, I could feel my cheeks flush a bright red.
"Yerp, that’s my name don’t wear it out." I giggled but he didn’t do anything back, wow I'm such a dork.
"Your name’s Jake right?" He smiled then, giving me a small nod.
"Yer that’s my name, you were in the office earlier right?" I nodded and tried to side step him to walk away, cause I knew if I stood and talked longer, I would only just keep staring at his eyes. He grabbed my elbow and slightly pushed me towards him.
"And where are you going?" He asked me with a mischievous smile, I smiled back and tried not to get to close to him as it is.
"Its home time Jake, that’s when we all go home and enjoy our real lives". I smiled, and he gave out a small giggle. He let go of my arm and walked with me to the front gate.
"Did you want a ride home Jasmine?" But how could he drive, he is only in year 10.
"You don’t have your license, do you?" He smiled at me as if I were clueless.
"Jasmine I changed schools in the middle of the year, so I had to do year 10 again, I should really be in year 11." I smiled because now I really did feel clueless.
"Well in that case of course I want a lift home."
He took my backpack and carried it towards the school car parking. I wondered which was his the really ugly shit box’s or the really nice looking black one in the lot. I doubted it cause he was only 17 how could he afford it. But hey guess I was wrong he walked me over to the black car, it was a sports one and looked really fast, and really expensive might I add.
He opened the passenger side for me, which I thought was kind of classy. I smiled at him and let myself fall into the leather interior. He threw my backpack into the backseat. He shut the door and oddly enough he was already at the driver’s door, I wondered how fast he was.
