The Need for a Wrinkle Cream Governing Body

Wrinkle creams are a hot commodity these days. People over age thirty are using whatever method possible to buy them and use them to their advantage to reduce the wrinkles that take over their face. However, as I read many complaints, I believe there needs to be a governing body.
Wrinkle creams are sold at all sorts of price points. You can get a good wrinkle cream fro $39 if you find a company that makes solid concentration of ingredients and decides to reduce its margins. You can also go for the cream of the crop and buy LaMer products with real caviar for around $1,000 per bottle. These creams are certainly powerful, but at $1,000 per bottle what is the big deal?

I do think that a governing body that regulates what these wrinkle cream makers can say would be a nice addition to the anti aging sector. If a company makes solid claims that are backed by clinicals, they can be misleading. Misleading customers takes place in many forms. Here are a few of the ads I have read that are clearly misleading customers:

-Wrinkles GONE in seconds.

-Wrinkles eliminated!

-Wrinkles vanish right before your eyes.

Claims like that are what I consider bogus. Wrinkle creams can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, and even reduce other impurities that come with aging, but they can not in any way, shape, or form, eliminate a wrinkle forever. A good wrinkle cream can reduce the appearance and smooth the skin, even bring a solid amount of moisture to the skin, but it can not by any means make it go away 100%

I believe an organization that sets some of these companies straight is the right way to approach the situation. If a company makes bold claims that it can not back up, it should be sanctioned. It should have a watch list of companies that make false claims, in order to better educate the consumers who may or may not know any better.

With strict regulation, and a consumer advisory task force, consumers can make better purchases, avoid returning products due to bogus claims and sub par results, and just make an overall better experience for everyone involved.

Wrinkle Cream Industry Needs Regulating
Wrinkle Cream companies should be regulated by a third party to help consumers.
