"Can’t you feel it?" She asked as she stepped through the long grass, her hands sifting it behind her. "The vibrations, the way it is, the way it was?" she licked her lips and closed her eyes as she tilted her head towards the sun. "The harmony of the world, and then the way it was fractured, split, when we divided it in our selfishness." she opened her eyes and watched as the clouds passed; slowly she looked sideways at Lysan. "Do you remember it, the way it once felt to feel hope, the way it would kiss each and every one of us before the end." He sighed slowly as if her words pained him.

"There is still hope, there always is, sister." she scowled at him.

"Hope has gone brother, or we would not be here, our burden, our curse is to live without it." She sighed heavily, "Just like the rest of the world."

"Oi"
The word echoed through the darkness, disturbing those that inhabited it for a small moment. I twirled around, my flame red curls spinning with the movement of my head. I was caught under the luminescent glow of the street light, my white shirt almost blinding the man that had demanded my attention. His dark hair falling over his empty eyes as his body moved in the swaying motion of his strut. I almost cringed away from his harsh smirk. His mouth was too wide, as if someone had run a scalpel across the gap between his chin and nose, creating are large rift in his flesh. This rift revealed pointed teeth that gleamed under the streetlight.

"You going into the Poison Apple? It is not wise for a banal like yourself." His voice was harsh and thick with mockery. I had no idea what he was talking about, banal? He was insane, if sanity even existed in New York. I wanted to go back home. I frowned feeling my green eyes flash with confusion. He mimicked my expression and croaked out a laugh.
"Thanks, for the warning, but I have to." He shot me a grin before shouting out a sarcastic good luck.

I shrugged off the strange lump of feeling that rose up my through and added the slapping of my sneakers to the rhythm of the music that escaped under the clubs door and onto the street .
