The Meanies

This one's for the meanies. People who derive a pleasure out of hurting others with their attitude. Pride does go before a fall you know and life turns a full circle...
Yes, this one's for the meanies...

Those of you who scorn and stare
And look down upon those around to stand
What makes you think you can dare
While you stand on nothing but sinking sand.
Wait a while, and watch and see
Take a moment to reflect and view
In their shoes you will shift and be
To see life from a perspective new.

It's not always that you will find
A hand to guide you and tread along
Let me tell you, don't you mind
You didn't lend one stanza to the song.
You are a mirror and only reflect
What you give to the world and neighbor
When scorn you give, what do you expect
In return for so cheap a labor?

Grow up, your riches are not here to stay
And pride, my dear, goes before a fall
If there's no regret in what you do or say
You'll soon be stooping instead of standing tall.
Grow up, grow up, it's time to move on and see
That gray means no wisdom now nor ever
Or else the mule would be the one free
And you? Patted on your tiny head forever.

Memories are made of strains
So vivid, and very well-defined
You earn only aches and pains
Without the will to be refined.
I am so sorry that you can never know
How good it is to belong and love
To have friends without pomp and show
And earn yourself a treasure cove.
