Chapter 2

After I won our third game, Kevin sighed and said, "I guess we should go say hey to the outside world."

"Yeah, that’d be nice," I muttered, but couldn’t help but grin. Sure, he’d kept me prisoner, but it was fun, playing videogames with him.

He grinned back and led me outside. The light blinded me for a second, but I got adjusted, and we were walking around in no time.

It was really strange. No one was walking around, getting things tidy or anything. I looked questioningly at Kevin, but he just smirked at me. He led me to the main tent, pulling on the cover, holding it open to let me in. I smiled my thanks and looked around. It was completely dark except for the light let in by Kevin. He shut the cover. Complete darkness engulfed me.

Suddenly, I saw tons of lights come alive, and everyone yelled, "Surprise!" Kenna came up to me with two lights, handing one to me and saying, "Happy Birthday."

"Omigosh." I said, grinning. "I can’t believe you did this."

Kenna grinned. "Yeah, it took forever, but it was worth it to see that expression on your face."

I raised an eyebrow. "Really?" I said. Then, I remembered Kevin’s proposal. Not the actual proposal, but his idea of going to his parent’s. I pulled Kenna away from everyone else, and no one actually noticed that the birthday was gone except Kevin and our small group of friends. "Kenna, guess what Kevin asked me."

"What? What else could there be? He already proposed."

"I know. He asked me to go meet his parents."

"What? All by yourself? No way." She gushed.

"I know! I totally want someone with me. You think he’ll go for it?"

"He’ll have to. You’re his future bride, plus you’re a woman, and you can totally boss him around. I think. I don’t know how he’d react to that…Nick likes it."

"OK, I don’t think I really wanted to know that." I said, and grinned. "I think I’ll ask him about it after this awesome party you threw together."

Kenna grinned, and gave me a hug before running to go dance with Nick. I grinned, then my grin went away. I didn’t know how I really felt about meeting his parents. What if they were stuck up? Didn’t like me? Thought I was too young? Hated fire? Strangely, the last one bothered me the most.

I walked up to Kevin and he picked me up, spinning me around. Everyone was joking and dancing, laughing and cutting up. I grinned at the people around me, and couldn’t believe that they’d put this together for me. Or, that Kenna had put this together for me. I couldn’t believe it. I grinned at her from across the room, and me and Kevin danced, everyone around us dancing too.

I danced until I got tired, then danced some more. When everyone was too tired to dance, we all sat down in a circle with me in the middle. There was a cake that Kenna had made, that I was a little scared of because of her horrible cooking, but I would eat it anyways. There were candles in it, and I looked at the flames dancing as everyone in the tent sang happy birthday. I resisted the urge to touch the fire, and blew out the candles when they finished singing.

The carnies that I really didn’t know left, leaving me with my small circle of friends. Everyone passed presents to me, and I grinned each of my friends.

Hey, guys. I know this is really short, but I'm really busy. Plus, juggling 3 stories isn't fun, but I want to finish the stories so bad! MY STORY is almost through, and this one will be easy. Please pay a visit to Trapped in Venice. It's my baby. :) I'm hoping to make it longer and more descriptive, so that it will appeal to more readers. I already have 15 chapters mapped out, so they should come quickly, after I write them. (I'm hand-writing it, so I'll probably write a couple of chapters at a time, then post them.)

Tell me what you think, and which stories you like the most. Then I can know how fast to write which one. To those who haven't read CARNIES and ignored my warning anyways, please read it. I promise that this story will have tons of drama. So please wait it out a bit. It'll take a while, maybe another chapter, but once they get to Kevin's parents', it will be full of drama.

Also: something I want ya'll to comment about: What should the gifts be that Rosa gets from her friends?

**Also: Someone commented on MY STORY and asked if the story was over. I wasn't through, but if no one wants to read it to its ending, that's fine. I just won't waste my time any more. It won't help about my timing with Trapped in Venice, but, by all means, speak up if you hate the story. I was going to do some more finalization, but whatever.
