If you have some amount of arrogance within you and you are flying high with the pride of your achievements, then silence will bring you to the ground where you actually belong to. On the other hand, if you are feeling low due to some incident which has happened because of your fault or negligence and you wish it did not happen that way. Or, you have a feeling that you could have acted in a smarter way, then silence can uplift your spirits! Stay silent for some time and you will realize that your fault is not unpardonable. Trust me, within a moment, all your unpleasant feelings will be converted into pleasant ones! You can feel that heaviness of your heart which was bothering you a lot has been offloaded and you feel like jumping with joy. It boosts up your confidence manifolds. Now, that is called the 'magic of silence'.
At times, negativity grips our mind for no definite reason. You can root out that negativity lying within you by maintaining a silence. You can set a positive frame of mind for yourself. Suppose, you are angry with someone, but for some valid reason you cannot express your anger in front of that person. Keeping a silence can calm down the unmanageable agitation of your mind. All of a sudden you can sense a unique calmness taking control of your mind. Then you realize how irrelevant that anger is to you. Silence helps you to de-stress completely. You can understand the actual meaning of relaxation only through silence.
Consistently, you are going through a bad patch over a period of time. You are so frustrated that you fail to understand what to do or where to go. Be silent. Once you are silent the unwanted elements that were ruling your mind and made you crazy will settle down in no time. Now is the time when your mind can act sensibly. It can give you a number solutions to each of the problem that you are facing at that moment. You can try them out one after the other. It is not that all the solutions that you get are foolproof but you get an opportunity to experiment with them. This way you may go two steps backward and then one step forward. This will at least remove the stagnation of your life. Then somewhere deep within you may get an idea how long that low phase is going to last. If you get a hint that it is going to be over soon, then it is alright. However, if it indicates that it will continue for quite some time, then you have to prepare yourself for the long and tough road ahead. Get ready for some compromises and motivate yourself for the battle. Thus you can say silence help you to be aware of the circumstances within and around you.
While suffering from a physical pain, you can use silence to get relief from it. You have an unbearable pain in any part of the body and you do not have any medicine at your hand to stop it. Silencing your mind at this stage is the most difficult part but if you do so, you can gain a lot. Try and get into the silence zone of your mind. Then merge that silence zone with that very point which has maximum pain. You may need a persistent effort before you can actually merge these two points. After that, wait for some time and you will find that the pain has literally vanished. Firstly, your silence or calmness, to be precise, will stop the unwanted vibration associated with pain and then finally, it will be eliminated from the system completely.
In order to enjoy all these magical powers of silence, you have to first learn how to be silent in your mind. Remember, your mind can speak hundreds of words in a minute without even uttering a single word. Silencing the mind at your will is quite a difficult task but you can do so with a little bit of regular practice. One thing is for sure that a silent mind will make life more beautiful, happier and much easier for you!
