The Love Life of Lauren (Chapter 1)
There was an Introduction before this. It'd probably help with confusion, so please read. Thanks for the comments on the Introduction. Intro should say: winter formal is coming up. not spring
It is a regular Saturday. At quarter to five, Lauren got home from cross-country practice. She's been attending extra practices; districts were in a week, and she was expected to place fourth. This was her first year in varsity, so if she did get fourth, she'd be the first girl district IV history to medal in their first year. Needless to say, she had a lot of pressure on her.
"Hey Laur! What are you up to tonight?" Natalie, Lauren's twin and best friend asked.
"Nothing really. Me and the guys are going to Adam's house to watch a movie." Lauren said as she got ready for a shower.
"By the guys I assume you are referring to half of our sophomore football team? Gosh Laur, you don't realize how lucky you are. Any girl is jealous of you."
"Yeah yeah," Lauren replied. She had listened to Natalie lecture her millions of times.
When Lauren got out of the shower, she wrapped a towel around her and walked over to Natalie.
"So uh, Nat, do you think I can borrow an outfit for tonight. Maybe you could, er, do my hair and makeup?" Lauren asked sweetly. She knew Natalie would never shut up about this, but she wanted to look nice.
"Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. YES!! So, who's the lucky guy? Are you still with Jason?" Natalie was s excited that Lauren asked for help.
"No. Jason was cheating on me,and no special guy. But Seventeen says that a girl with mostly guy friends should look extra good sometimes, to keep them interested. Please don't overdo it."
Natalie seemed to accept that answer. She called Jason some not-so-nice words and started to play life-size barbie on Lauren. An hour later, Lauren looked in the mirror. She looked, in one word HOT. Natalie simply spiraled Lauren's naturally wavy hair. Lauren was wearing light blue skinny jeans and purple tank top, showing just a little stomach, and just a little cleavage. Her makeup was slight, only lip gloss and black eyeliner.
At 7:20, she started to walk to Adam's house. His house was only three blocks away, and she had to be there for 7:30.
When she got to Adam's house, she checked her phone, 7:32 PM. She checked her reflection before opening the door and walking in.
