The Long Walk Home

Life has become so hectic that we barely have time to do things like visit the park or just go for a walk. Just something to remind us that nature us beautiful when we take the time to really stop and look...
The Long Walk Home
I walked one day home from work,
No doubt in utter disgust;
My car broke down – a first for me,
And in public transport I had no trust.

All dressed and sweaty I trudged along,
With nary a sidewards glance;
Too bothered with my ill fortune,
To give the views a chance.

Twas a long way back to home sweet home,
And soon I ran out of steam;
Walking home was a task itself,
No chance on my fortune to scream.

As I ambled along the roads, I saw
Somethings I never had seen;
It made me wonder, that until then,
Where in the world had I been.

For we are so caught up in work everyday,
Which oftentimes keeps us till dark;
That we have no time, no time at all,
To enjoy the view and the park.

Take the time to enjoy the world,
before it becomes way too late;
the bikes and cars will always be there,
but you will not, my mate!
