I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

Jay stared at the expressions on the two stylist's faces. It was comical almost. Surprise and shock. They turned, tapped Nyssa on the shoulder and she looked up from her magazine, and nearly dropped it.

"Good God" she whispered, got up and peered at him from all sides. He cringed back into the seat. She was making him uncomfortable. Did he look that bad? He stood up and walked over to the full length mirror in the corner of the room.

Wow.

It took his brain a few seconds to realise that the gentleman in the mirror was him. He was barely recognizable. Jay turned and studied himself. They did a bloody good job. He grinned and looked up. Nyssa was excited, happy that her little pet project had worked, he scowled to himself. She pulled him by the arm, out the room and after turning several times in all the corridors, they came to a staircase.

Johnathan was standing at the bottom of it, leaning against the banister. He looked up at the clatter of Nyssa's heels on the marble and raised his eyebrows. Then he grinned and grabbed Jay's hand in a handshake.
"Hello" he mocked. Jay laughed and batted his hand away. For some reason, they made him feel at ease. He felt like he fit in. They pushed through a door where there was a loud shrieking noise.

Jay almost laughed at the scene. There was a boy wrestling with a girl on the sofa in the corner and another watching. Johnathan rolled his eyes and cleared his throat. Both boys and and the girl looked up. Jay sucked in a small bit of air. The girl was beautiful.

The boy moved and allowed her to stand up. She had snowy white skin, which would've have made her look ill if not for the cute blush on her cheeks, and the twinkle in her ice blue eyes. Her lips were bee stung and her long brown hair floated to her waist in little waves. She was like a life sized, porcelain and very beautiful doll. She grinned at him and winked and he smiled back. She had a sense of humour. He liked that.

"India, Edward, Zac. This is James Crescent. James, my children, India, Edward and Zac" Johnathan smiled and gestured to each.

"Hey" he called.

The God, because that was the only way to describe his looks, stood in front of me. I couldn't resist the urge to wink. He smiled back. Cool. Humour.

" India, Edward, Zac. This is James Crescent. James, my children, India, Edward and Zac" my dad said. I grinned when he said my name, Edward nodded and Zac raised an eyebrow.

"Hey" James Crescent said. I nearly fainted. He was sexy! His voice as even sexier! I was in heaven. He turned to look at me and the sun from the window high-lighted his features so that they looked even better than before.

He had lightly tanned skin, obviously natural. High cheekbones and a chiseled jaw I wanted to chew on. He also had blue eyes, like me only darker. He was just....yum....!
I felt Zac's gaze on me and I turned and glared at him. He narrowed his eyes then looked away. Uh Oh. I knew that look. It meant he was either up to something or he was on the verge of rapping me up in bubble wrap and hiding me somewhere.

My brothers are naturally and instinctively protective of me, but Zac is by far the worst. Always looking over my shoulder, keeping an eye on me...checking up on me. It's terribly annoying. I hardly get to have a life. I ignored him. For the time being, my attention was on James.

"Why is James here Dad?" Edward asked politely.
"Oh, it's to do with my job. Don't worry yourself about it" dad smiled. Edward nodded.
"He's going to be staying with us for a while. He's in the room next to yours Zac" Nyssa gestured.

James looked at Zac again and then shrugged those broad yummy shoulders. I just about melted.

"Um...India? Would you mind showing James around?" Nyssa asked.
"Oh of course not. I'll do it now, while i'm bothered" I added on hastily at Edward's smirk.

"One minute. I just need a quick word with James" Johnathan smiled and gently pulled James by the arm.

"James, I am telling you from now because I don't want anything to happen and ruin this nice new friendship we've got going. Stay away from India. She's my daughter and she's only seventeen. I don't want anybody interfering with her and her studies" Johnathan told Jay.

Jay smiled. He knew it! He knew there had to be a catch to staying in a great house with a beautiful girl. He nodded.

"Oh sure Johnathan. I wouldn't want to compromise this either" he said slowly. He was trying not to be sarcastic, but it was proving hard.

Just how was he supposed to survive for god knows how long, in the same house, with a girl like India?
