The Life of Love - Prologue
New author, New story.
Hey loving readers,
I am Zeviyane. I am sure that a few of the authors know me since I occasionally comment on their awe-inspiring stories. They are really amazing and encouraging, and I credit them for spiriting me to bring forward my story. This is the first story I have ever written and I hope that it is to your liking. The prologue will be a bit confusing but I promise you, all the events will click into place shortly. I apologize that I may not be a regular poster since I have my other responsibilities at bay. But still, I ll try my very best to get at least one chapter out each week. Once again my apologies.I know that I am not perfect and I would really appreciate it if you would correct my errors, or give in suggestions or mail me if you have any concerns. Comments fuel confidence and I hope you ll leave one for me. I guess I kept you too long, so go on and enjoy my story.
Yours truly,
Z
Prologue
Life is just a mere speck of time yet love makes it eternal.
Yet what would happen when the love itself is trying to vanish?
What happens when necessities cross the way of the heart?
Would life sacrifice itself to the unbreakable vows or to the agonizing clutches of death?
Try doing the both but is the ‘mere speck of time’ enough to run this race of eternity?
Questions appear many times and it is our duty to answer those but responsibility somehow, shows only the procedure and not the desired answer.
So let us flow through the tale of two souls - a prince and a princess - who have to break the bonds of their love to abide to the traditions posed to them. There is an evil lurking in the midst of their journey that forces their love to break for the welfare of many. The prince’s and the princess’s tale had been passed down through ages yet one recognizes only the fantasy and not the agony.
Preface into the story
Narrator’s - Livia - POV
The princess’s hand swept in an arc and she slowly glided to the next dancer. She had been dancing tirelessly for 3 hours to find him since she knew that he was the one who reached to the depths of her heart. She was desperate to know if he was her soul mate, even though she had to marry another prince in a matter of two hours. She simply needed an answer and the dance was her final hope. She was moving effortlessly along to the melody, with her eyes closed and her hands twining and releasing themselves yet still her heart seemed unaware of her surroundings since it was beating frantically.
But the moment her fingers touched her new partner, her eyes flew open as a surge of a fresh awakening plunged through her.
She was then pulled closer to her dance partner, and she haltingly lifted her eyes to look at him.
The prince was anxiously dancing along with the ladies of the room. He knew that the princess captured his heart yet he was still wondering if she was his soul mate. This tradition of a dance was prominent through ages of his ancestors and every time this dance took place, it revealed only the truth. The woman he was dancing with was constantly trying to get nearer to him yet he showed no interest since he felt no connection to the one in his arms. Luckily the music changed and so should the partners. He hastily let go of the lady and glided, resting on his thin hope to find his other half.
Two fingers touched him and he had sparks ignite on his fingertips.
He quickly pulled the dancer, close to his heart, clutching onto her for a second before looking at her face.
Both of them gasped as they looked at each other. Green searched into sapphire before smiles broke up on their faces. They knew that destiny was written to clasp both of their hearts together.
As the prince looked at the princess, he noticed that her eyes were flooded with tears. He searched frantically for a reason and a reply, when she choked out, " Pl … pl …lease. D….do not let go….o of me. I h….have ff..found you after m…many s…st…struggles and I can..not let you leav….ee me. I know that f..fate had bonded you with me and ple…..ase do not e…rrase it. I….I… l…ove you. I do not know if you do but pl….e….ease, do not leave me. I have not s…strength left to c….counter any….thing. Y….you are my l…..ast hope. Hold on to me. Pl…..pl…..please. " And she breaks into uneven and shivering sobs.
The princess looked pleading at the prince ad she noticed that his breath was caught in his throat. She almost panicked that he may not regard her as his soul mate, when he spoke out, " I…..I love you more than my life. Yo….u are my other half, the o….ne who fills the gaping hole in my heart, the one who captured my s….oul, and the o…..ne who is the mistress of my life. H…….how can I let go of my li….life?" His voice broke out in the end.
Both of them looked passionately into each other’s eyes and wept softly. They knew the truth, the destiny and fate. They knew that nothing could break them since their love was immortal and was decided by the Heavens. Their faces moved closer to each other and just as their lips were about to touch, the princess was yanked out of the prince’s arms.
He saw that no one behind her but when he turned back to the princess, he let out a wild shout.
The first ray of day was piercing through her heart, leaving a trail of blood from the princess’s lips. He tried to move towards her but the last ray of the night struck his heart and he fell down, following the same scene as the princess.
They were the only ones left on the dance floor and they tried desperately to reach other despite their pathetic condition. They seemed like they wanted to die along with each other but fate had other plans. Just as they were about to touch each other, the princess breather her last and the prince died after the next moment, leaving them under the veils of grief and death.
Their death was intended by the prophecy that intertwined them and it was finished by the evil that lurked in their lands. Yet still, even their death could not halt their immortal love. It was designed to last for an eternity but simply
Their love lived longer than their life.
