The Last Victim Chapter Nine

''Hysterical amnesia also known as fugue amnesia is a kind of amnesia linked to psychological trauma. It is usually temporary and can be triggered by a traumatic event with which the mind finds it difficult to deal with. Usually, the memory slowly or suddenly comes back a few days later, although memory of the trauma may remain incomplete. '' The doctor said to the shocked Rouvas and Roderigo.

''Oh, that's , that's difficult.'' Rouvas said scratching his head.

''So what now?'' Roderigo muttered.

''When he gets better physically we will start the process of helping him to regain his memory.'' The doctor said putting the file in his hand in the drawer and continued ''Your son still has a long painful journey to go through, the journey of healing and therapy, you'd better be ready for that too.''

*****************************************************************
He was asleep like an angel. Many tubes were connected to his body and wires connecting him to machines. He lost a heap of weight and looks so frail. Oh My son, darling! At a point I thought that I will never see you again. It's ok, Daddy's here, Dadddy will never allow anyone or anything to hurt you again.

''Rouvas, you've got to have some rest, look at you, you look miserable!'' Rouvas said handing me a cup of tea.

''You know, I've got this feeling that if I go away……''

''You will never see him again.'' He interrupted then he pressed my hand reassuringly and said ''But it won't happen, no one will allow it to happen.''

A moment of silence filled the room and was stopped by Rouvas when he said ''Do you know that Niko's birth was a surprise for me?''

''How come?'' Roderigo asked, bewildered.

''Let me tell you something you don't know.'' Rouvas said, turning to him with all his body.

''Go ahead.'' Roderigo said curiously.
