The Last Victim Chapter 21

Neither his father nor Maddy were in the house when he arrived. He tossed the keys on the tea table and sunk in the sofa.
''Cathy'' he called on one of the servants. "Would you prepare me a snack please.''
He waited a few seconds for an answer but there was none. He thought that she must've been outside buying something so he called on the others. ''Laura!''
Silence was still the answer. He stood up and walked to the kitchen ''Cathy! Laura! Brown! Where are you guys?!''
He stepped into the kitchen and was horrified by what he saw. Cathy, Laura, Maddy and Brown were bound and muzzled on the kitchen floor.
''What happened?'' he yelled in panic and headed to Brown and removed the duct tape from his mouth.
''Behind you!'' Brown screamed.
A blow hit Niko's head before he could turn around. He fell forward with extreme pain in his head and blurred vision. David tied his hands from behind and flipped him over.
''Did you miss me?'' he laughed.
''Heelp, heeelp.'' Brown wailed.
David hit him with the gun on the back of his head that he was knocked out immediately. He turned around to capture Niko but he was not there.
''NOOOOO'' he screamed in anger.
Niko ran outside and tried open the door.
''There is nowhere to go. Niko , darling behave yourself.'' He said while approaching him slowly.
Niko looked him, shivering and not able to breathe.
David grabbed his arm and put a duct tape on his mouth.
''Come on.''
He opened the door and pushed him outside. The dogs were barking nonstoppingly and trying to free themselves from the leash to help their masters.
''Stop!'' David yelled.
The dogs kept on barking and struggling.
David raised the gun and yelled again "'Stop, I said!'' but the dogs wouldn't stop. He shot them both without hesitation. Niko's eyes widened in shock and let out a scream that came out as a groan under the duct tape. He cried and tried to run to the dogs but David pushed him forward and said ''Come on, we don't have time. The neighbors must've heard the gun shots''
Niko fell on the grass on purpose and kicked David in his knee.
''AWWW.'' David screamed.
Niko didn't stop, he kept on kicking him as fast and as much as he could till he fell down. The surge of adrenaline gave him an unexpected power. David fell on the floor screaming in pain and anger.
Niko tried to get up. It was difficult with his arms bound from behind but finally he managed to stand up but as soon as he did David hit him with the gun in his lower back. Niko groaned in pain and fell on the grass. David carried him and ran to the gate. He reached his car which was parked few meters away when he heard the sirens of the police cars wailing and coming near. He stuffed Niko in the backseat and moved fast to the driver's seat. The sirens sound was getting louder and louder. In a desperate attempt Niko gave his back to the door and tried to open it. It took him few seconds to open it and throw himself outside the car.
''SHIT!'' David screamed in anger.
The police cars were already on sight and there was no time to get out and put him in the car again.
''We will meet again little bastard I promise.'' He screamed before going off as fast as he could with two police cars following him.
