The Last Victim Chapter 19

''So he drugged you and you wake up in his house?'' Brandon asked.
''Yes, I was tied up to a bed in the attic.'' Niko said emphatically.
''Did he keep you tied up all the time?''
''No, he used to untie me about two hours everyday and I was free to move around the house these times.''
''Have you tried to escape?''
''In the first few days but there was no way out, the windows were barred and the door was locked, there was no phone or computer, the house was detached that there was no one single person in sight.''
''Have you seen or heard anyone visiting him?''
''No.''
''Did he mention any names?''
''No, he was completely silent most of the time. Only in the last days, he started talking.''
''What did he say?''
''Nonsense'' Niko muttered.
''It's important for us to know.'' Brandon said firmly.
''We are meant to be together, that he has been looking for me all his life...things like that.''
Brandon exchanged a look with Stephen. Stephen looked at Niko in the eye and asked ''How often did he rape you?''
''I have made it clear that he is not ready for this kind of questions.'' Rouvas protested.
''Please sir, don't interrupt.'' Brandon said.
''It's enough, I can't talk anymore.'' Niko said irritably.
''Niko, yesterday a missing young man in the area was reported.'' Stephen lied. Niko's eyes widened in panic.
''You can help us save him by the information you give us.'' Stephen continued.
''Ok'' Niko managed to choke.
''How often did he do it?'' Stephen repeated.
Rouvas held Niko's hand and pressed it in reassurance.
''Two or three times a day, I don't remember exactly.''
''Did he torture you?''
''Yes.'' His hands started shaking.
''How?''
Niko rested his elbows on his knees and buried his face in his hands.
''Take your time.'' Stephen said softly.
''I can't.'' Niko said, his face still buried in his hands.
''Niko, please help us.''
''What do you want to know? Yes he did!'' Niko yelled standing up to his feet.
''I want to know everything, what did he use? How did he do it? What did he say before, during and after?!'' Stephen said assertively.
''Beatings, whippings and electroshocks what else do you want to know? Huh?!! He laughed when I was screaming, he was in ecstasy when I was in pain! He did it everyday, nonstoppingly!!'' Niko yelled that his throat hurt. His face became very red and veins could be seen popping out of his forehead.
''Niko, calm down.'' Brandon said in worry.
''Now you know!, leave me alone!'' his said jumping on his feet.
''Would you please go out?'' Rouvas said firmly to Brandon and Stephen.
Stephen took out a card from his pocket and placed it on the coffee table.
''That's my number if you have anything to add.'' He said quickly. Then he headed to the door with his partner.
As soon as they left Niko sunk in the sofa and started crying hysterically. Rouvas surrounded his shoulders with his arm gently. He didn't ask him to calm down, he didn't tell him to stop crying although he wanted to. It hurt him to see his suffering like that and he can't do anything to help him. He wanted him to vent all his anger and frustration.
''This is all too much for me, I can't take it anymore.'' Niko wailed.
''You were brave enough to survive and you will overcome this.'' Rouvas whispered.
''There is nothing brave in that. he could have killed me at any time.''
''But he didn't, and you are now here, given a second chance to live your life as before, you should be grateful.''
''Daddy, I will never be ''as before'', I will never be the same, dying would have been better for me.''
''Don't say that, honey, you are now free and safe.''
''I am not! I am neither free nor safe. I 'm still in captivity. I live it everyday, I experience it every single day, in my dreams in the flashbacks.''
He leaned his head on his father's shoulders and said ''I appreciate you trying to help me Dad, but I can't be helped.''
''This is what you used to say when you had a kidney failure and my kidney saved you.'' Rouvas said with a flashing smile and wiping Niko's tears with his free hands.
Niko sighed, the hot breath hit Rouvas's neck.
