END OF CHAPTER II
As I sat here with them, another pulse of insecurity rushed into my veins… How can this whole thing, made me like ‘unwelcome’. The three of them is like a character in a fairy tale. Very incredible creations, Melissa, Sam, and Francis.
Melissa’s too attached to Francis. And yes, any person would think that she’s his girl.
"So, Carmer, how do you find Baguio City so far?" Melissa asked.
"Baguio’s very… I’m still overwhelmed… Everything’s r-really new to me… The coldness… But, I always hate cold. I really hate it… How it shivers my spines… tsktsktsk… The water’s chilly… Taking bath is an agony." I halted to gulped strawberry juice that Sam made. "I’m sort of ‘kandingon’."
"’Kandingon?" Francis asked with curiosity.
I regretted saying that word to them. I hesitated answering it...yet he is seems so interested and that I couldn’t rebuff that russet wonderful eyes.
"I-it’s sort of a term in Cebu for those who are afraid of bathing…" I continued, trying to calm myself. There’s amusement in Francis eyes that I am sure of… though I’m sort of embarrassed as their attention really focus to me, especially Francis, but I still decided to stressed it more to them.
"Kandingon is from the word kanding which is Visayan term for goat… Well, mom said that it’s referred to be since goats afraid of rain. If it rains they tend to hide... Well, I’m really not sure, though… Most of the animals hate rain, I believe…" I realized I’d talk a lot.
"Does that mean, Carmer, you don’t bath regularly?" Sam prompted.
"I bath regularly…"
"Here in Baguio…? The water’s chilly, right?... Did you bath today?" Sam continues, which I’m not sure if he’s deliberating it to annoy and to humiliate me in front of these beautiful people.
"O-of course… I use the hot one…" I responded to him firmly, with my chin raised.
"Let me smell you…" He teases more and bended next to me. "You smell awful…" He said in disgust…
The blood rushed to my face. "I-I was sweating… I did some cleaning…"
"Ows…" He continues, still inhaling me… While Melissa and Francis seems absorbed with me and Sam, that contented with chuckling.
I do have fan, somehow… Melissa’s a good conversationalist, Sam’s a bully, Francis is a good listener, and me, as their clown.

As my eyes still glued on the gate, where Melissa and Francis’s silhouette vanished, Sam called my attention as he stood next to me.
"They're minutes gone," Sam started.
After that conversation we had in the courtyard, Melissa and Francis decided to visit some old friends that also have moved in Baguio.
"Do you know what I’ve observe, Carmer?"
"Observe about what?" I looked at him, perplexed.
Sam’s face is calm, yet his eyes were profound. "You like my nephew."
I smirked. "Really, Sam." Still grinning…
"Why not… My nephew’s handsome. And it’s not undeniable that girls do like him."
"But I’m not one of those girls."
"You are. I saw how your eyes unconsciously secured to him from time to time… And how your face saddened as he left the house."
I avoided his eyes. I don’t know how to respond to him, knowing that he’s quite right. But, that concern I shouldn’t pressed on much. It should be ignored. Not nurtured…
"Just a few words, Carmer," He breathed deeply as he tried to assemble his words. "Avoid such feeling for my nephew. It’s not healthy. If you are smart, and you should see the things that you’re not supposed to see." Then, he swayed his shiny hair gracefully. "But you’re not smart. So, that’s the problem." And he left me alone by the door, as the sun setting for the moon.
I know, I shouldn’t be bothered, but I couldn’t just lay here fix with what Sam said. It was destructing. And I should have known he’s serious if his eyes weren’t that staid. It’s my first time to see him like that. Like he was worried, or moreover, afraid. Afraid of what? Afraid of whom? Afraid for whom? And why?
It’s ten in the evening. The sky’s placid in indigo. A star close to the moon shone brightly. And, yet so away from the hundreds. It’s quite fascinating in a tranquil night like this as the cold breeze brushing into my skin. And I wished I’m as at ease as the wonderful things that surround me. But I couldn’t.
I forcefully close my eyes to let the calmness drew in with me… Without those thoughts… Those what Sam said…
