The Lake House; Chapter Three
First Night.
It's the first night, and the night of the huge party. I just got out of the shower and I'm looking at my choices of outfits.
"SKYLAR BABY!" My door busts open and in comes Jen, my brothers friend from school. She's an absolute doll, if you need her for anything she's there. She's not one of those prissy types either, the two of us are a lot alike, except she has a seriously hot boyfriend, Alex, who just walked in behind her.
"I mean yea, it's cool to just barge in when a girl is naked." I say to the two of them.
"You are not ready yet?!"She asks, looking over my outfits. "Oh go with the purple dress and the white heels. It'll make you look so good." I look over at her and she's in a tight black dress with 4 inch pumps. Well, if she's dressed up then I might as well too.
"You think?" I look at it, I mean it'll work. I slide the dress on, and go blow dry my hair.
"So Sky, how's Parker? I heard you got up on the wakeboard today." Thinking back on the day on the water, I wonder what he was thinking when we were swimming around. He looked like he wanted to say something, but it was probably just something about my technique.
"Yea, and then whipped me off in two seconds. The kid is a demon child." We both crack up. I quickly threw on some mascara and a little blush. I open the door so Jen can see.
"So love, how do I look?" Her jaw drops and a smile crawls across her face.
"Absolutely stunning darling." I look in the mirror. I'm tan from being out on the water all day, my hair falls in wisps all the way down my back. There's a slight twinkle in my eye and the purple dress hugs my curves in all the right places.
"Jeez, I guess I've lost a little weight since the breakup." I smile and look back at Jen and she frowns.
"Let's go find you a new man."

I walk down the stairs and the party is in full swing. People are playing pong in the living room, flip cup in the kitchen, Kings at the counter. Sean is doing a keg stand and there are girls dancing by the stereo. The house itself is packed. I scan the crowd to see if I can find Scott or Kevin and I find Parker, standing next to Alex and Kate, Jen's sister. He looks over in my direction and spots me. The way he looked at me made me blush instantly. His eyes grew big and his mouth opened slightly. He didn't look too bad himself. He wore khakis with a light blue button up that made his eyes POP. I get to the bottom stair and Scott comes up to me.
"Yo, Sky, see that girl over there?" I look to who he's pointing at. She's a cute, blonde haired blue eyed girl. Tan and thin in a green dress.
"Yea man, go for her."
"You think? Yea, I think." And off he goes. Scott's had trouble since his last girlfriend even going up to girls. But at least he's getting back in the game. I turn around and see Parker with two cups and a smile on.
"Ohhh, is that for me? Why thank you!" I take the one cup and begin to walk away.
"Hey hey hey, you are not getting off that easy. You are my partner, let's go."
We walk up to the pong table and we're up against Sean and Kevin.
"Oh this is going to be too easy." I say, and they crack up.
"Oh yea, like you can beat us."
"Watch me."
The game goes on and I sail in cup after cup. Parker and I are on a role and finally its down to the last cup for both teams.
"Don't choke Sky." Sean says.
"Choke on this." I reply and sink the ball into the cup.
"OHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" The party goes nuts. Sean goes and misses.
"It's all on you Kev." I say with a smirk. He shoots and misses.
"Thanks for comin boys." I grab my cup and walk away.
"You, my lady, are an absolute angel." I turn around to a decent looking guy with a shot glass in one hand and a lime in the other.
"Oh am I now? Why is that?" I can't wait to hear this one.
"Well, you look like a model, but party like a guy. I like that in a girl." He replies, tripping over himself.
"I'm glad you feel that way." I look behind him and see Parker with a pissed off look on his face, staring down the guy talking to me.
"Well I better get going.." I start to walk away and he grabs me.
"Fine, you are not interested, but at least take a shot with me?"
"If you insist." I take the shot glass and bring it to the bar. Parker, Scott, the girl Scott is trying to get with, Sean, Kevin, Alex, Jen and Kate all come up. I grab glasses for everyone and pour Jack Daniel's for everyone.
"To me going to college, finally!" I yell.
"TO COLLEGE!" They reply.

"So, who was that kid that was trying to get with you?" Parker and I are out on the patio. He looks over with a truly concerned look.
"Oh I dunno, some kid saying I was an angel and perfect." I grin and throw my napkin at him.
"Oh really, so you are into him?"
"No, he just thinks I'm awesome. If I were into every person who thought I was awesome, I'd be a huge slut." He laughs at me and I look over. His smile is perfect and his eyes have a spark. He looks over at me and I immediately feel myself begin to blush.
"By the way, you do look pretty amazing tonight."
"Well thanks Parker. But I'm soo done being dressed up." I get up and run over to the water.
"Hey where are you going?" He yells to me.
"Gotta follow to find out!"
I run down to the dock and slip off my shoes. I'm feeling pretty tipsy from the party, but I'm not completely smashed. I slip off my dress so I'm only down to my black bra and black boy shorts.
"Sky where are ---" I look over and he's staring at me. Thank god it's dark out so he can't see that much, I think.
"Time to go for a swim" I say smiling and dive in. The water feels amazing against my skin. It's so warm out and the water is the perfect temperature to cool me down. Parker takes off his shirt and shorts and jumps in along with me.
"So whatever happened to us hanging out?" He asks as he swims in circles around me.
"You never asked."
"You were supposed to ask me, not the other way round."
"Well would you like to hangout Parker?"
"When?"
"Right now?" I smile at him and he smiles back. I swim up to him and say, "So, what would you like to do?"
He brushes the hair off my face and tucks it behind my ear. Just the graze of his fingertips gave my body goose bumps, made me heart races and my stomach start to flip.
"I've got a few ideas." He says and starts to lean in.
"CANNON BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *SPLASH* Next thing you know the whole party starts stripping and jumping into the lake.
I laugh and look at Parker. "Maybe next time?"
He smiles, "Definitely."
