The Lake House; Chapter Six

I woke up the next morning in my big bed and laid there recalling last night’s events. There was getting to know Ryan out on the patio, then there was drinking and dancing and more drinking. Then the bonfire, Jen acting weird, then, oh my god, Parker. Oh god, we kissed last night. Should I leave it at that? Or stay. Well there’s no better time to face him. *Knock Knock*
"Uhh, come in." Okay just joke around with him, no big deal.
"Hey Sky, I’m leavin. Are you coming or staying?"
"Oh Scott! Okay um, I dunno."
"She’s staying." Parker walks in behind him, grabs a towel from the closet and leaves.
"Well, okay then. Have fun Sky. Don’t be stupid."
"Never am!" Parker said to stay. Well okay.
I threw on shorts and a sweatshirt and set out for a run. What the hell am I supposed to do now? What do I even make of what is happening right now. I need to calm down, I’m making way too big of a deal out of this. Act like it’s completely normal. I passed a little coffee shop so I stopped in for a cup.
"Good Morning Sugar, what can I get ya?" A sweet older woman asks from behind the counter.
"Coffee; black please." I ask politely.
"Do ya want a cup of water or something dear? You look tired." I guess I looked kinda grimy from the run.
"Yes please, I’d love one. Thank you." I finish the coffee and ran the scenic way home, along the beach. I collapsed as soon as I got back to the house, but the house was empty. ‘Weird’ I thought. I went out to the patio and saw the boys swimming out in the lake.
"Yo Sky! Come in!" I couldn’t tell who’s voice it was but I listened and went to change into my bathing suit. As I walked up the stairs I heard someone turn off the shower. I didn’t think much of it and went to get changed. ‘Maybe I’ll shower first.’ I went into the bathroom and turned the water on, quickly rinsed off and washed my body. I walked back into my room and Parker was standing at the closet in just a towel. The muscles all down his back were defined perfectly.
"Well hey there Park." He whipped around and when he noticed we were both in just a towel, he turned bright red. Then I realized I was only in a towel and could feel myself blushing.
"Sorry, I thought you were out." He looked down trying to avoid looking at me.
"Uhh no problem, I don’t mind" I laughed. He looked up and smiled.
"Going in the lake?"
"Hell yea, it’s my last day." I went and started to brush my hair. I turned around and he was looking at me.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Nothing," He smiled and walked out. I slipped into my suit, threw on a zip up and walked out of my room right into Parker.
"Oh shit, sorry Sky"
I started laughing. "Don’t worry about it. What’s up?"
"Nothing, I’m glad you stayed. Listen, Sean and Kev are leaving later, if you want to leave with them. I’m having people over again tonight if you want to stay."
I thought it over. He waited patiently but I could tell he wanted an answer right then.
"I’ll let you know." I smiled and ran outside.

So the day was spent kayaking and swimming and joking around with the guys.
"So Sky," Kevin stated, "You staying with Parker or coming back with us?"
"I dunno guys. I mean I guess I’ll come back with you. I want to stay but I feel like it’d be weird."
"We know about last night Sky," Sean put in. "Were not gunna say anything to Scott because well, this was bound to happen. Stay."
"You think?" Right now, Parker was out buying stuff for tonight. The boys were leaving in a half hour.
"Skylar, just stay. It’s your last night." I looked at Kevin.
"Well, if you guys insist!" and we all burst out laughing.
"What’s so funny?" Parker comes walking down the dock and looks at me smiling.
"The boys insist that I stay tonight and you bring me home tomorrow." He looks over and Sean and Kevin who are grinning like idiots.
"Well okay." And walks away.
I look over at the two of them and their grins turn into complete confusion.
"What the hell was that?" Sean asks.
"I dunno… I’ll go find out." I get up and jog into the house.
"Yo Park, what’s up?" I turn the corner and he’s standing there. He looks up at me and walks over.
"I want you to stay Skylar, I do, but your brother and mom are going to kill me."
"They don’t have to know I’m up here alone." He just looks down.
"Sky, I don’t want to hurt you." I look up and wrap my arms around his neck. He looks down at me and I smile.
"Then don’t." And I reached up on my tippy toes and kiss him. He goes to say something and I just shake my head. He finally gave up, wrapped his arms around my waist, picked me up and put me on the counter. His touch sent a spark throughout my entire body every single time, and every single time it makes the kiss deeper. His hands are holding my face now, pulling me closer. I pull away and look up at him.
"Wait for them to leave." And as soon as I said that the two walk in.
"Well, we don’t wanna be the third wheel so were gunna split. Later Parker, Bye Skylar." They both came over and kissed me on the cheek, said bye to Park and left. I hopped onto the couch ready to take a nap again when it starts pouring.
"Oh yea, the forecast said it was supposed to rain." I look over at Parker with the biggest smile on my face. I probably looked like a huge idiot.
"What are you doing?" He asked. I stood up, ripped off my sweatshirt and shorts so I was just in my t-shirt and boy shorts and ran outside. I turned on my iPod and just spun around in the rain.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Parker asked laughing.
"Come play with me." He walked outside and I ran up, jumped into his arms and kissed him. We were both drenched and the rain wasn’t stopping anytime soon. All of a sudden, the sky lit up and the thunder crashed. He carried me inside and lay me down on the couch, still kissing me. I took off my soaked shirt. He took of his. The heat from his body was enough to make me melt but his kisses sent chills through my body. The sky lit up one more time and I was lost in a world of ecstasy.
