The Lake House; Chapter Eight - The Final Chapter

Hope you all enjoyed reading. It was my first story so kinda short. They'll get better as I keep writing. Keep reading! =)
The last night, the last party at the house. Every single person is going to be here tonight, even the boys are coming back and every one is dressing up. I look down at my options, I have the white strapless dress that hugs my body, or I could wear my light blue and green dress. Just then Jen walks in looking a bit ticked off.
"How could you not tell me?!" I just look at her and laugh. She's so disappointed that I didn't tell her. I love her sometimes.
"Sorry, I didn't tell anyone. Who told you?"
"Well he did of course. Sky! I'm so happy for you."

"Thanks man, which one do you think I should wear?"
"Why do you always wait until everyone is here to get dressed?" She looks down at my options and I reply,
"To make an entrance obviously." She looks up wide eyed.
"You crack me up. You are going to run shit at school." We both laugh and finally decide it has to be the white dress.
"Throw on those blue heels and you'll be good. I'll be downstairs waiting." I wonder what's going to happen when I get to school. I mean, I want to visit Parker, but I don't know if it's a good idea. This weekend was amazing but it doesn't stay good forever.

I finished doing my hair and make up and take a look in the mirror. My hair got lighter from being in the sun every day, it hangs in waves down my back. My skin is clear and dark. The white dress makes me look tanner than I am, but there's no harm in that. Just then someone knocks on my door.
"Come in!" Scott opens the door.
"Hey Sky." I run over and hug him.
"How was the hospital?"
"Good, glad I'm back though. You look good." That's probably the best compliment he can give me. He's not one with words around me.
"Why thank you."

"I'm sure Parker will think the same." I turn around and look at him. Does he know everything? Oh god, I hope not.
"It's okay Sky, Sean and Kev talked to me about it. Parker didn't want to say anything but he knew it was better to get it out of the way. He really likes you." He smiled. Wait, he smiled at the thought of me and Parker.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yes. Now lets go downstairs."
We walked down the stairs and literally every single person is here. Kids from my school back at home are here. This is ridiculous.

"There you are! Jeez Sky, why do you take forever?" Jen hands me a shot and starts introducing me to people. I must have said 'Hi, my name is Skyler' about 500 times. Parker came up and put his hand on the small of my back.
"Well, look at you." He says with a smile.
"What about me?" I ask.
"YOU LOOK AMAZING!" Ryan comes up with his friend. "This is my friend Conner, see dude, this is who I was telling you about." Conner is absolutely gorgeous. He's tall and tan with dirty blonde hair and light green eyes. I've never seen a kid who looked like this.
"Um, Hi, I'm Skyler. It's nice to meet you," I say reaching out my hand. He takes it.
"Conner, nice to meet you." He smiles. Wow, this kid is seriously attractive. "Ryan's told me all about you. He said that since he couldn't get you he'd let me try." I begin to laugh.
"Yea, well we'll see about that."

Parker extends his hand, "Hey Conner, what's up man?"
"Parker! My dude! Where have you been all summer."
"Oh you know, here and there. I've been doing tournaments all summer."
"I feel ya man, I've been busy all summer too." He looks over at me and says, "I go to Virginia Tech and we've been meeting the recruits all summer." Virginia Tech? Spencer goes there.
"Have you met a kid named Spencer?" I ask him. Parker looks down at me with a confused look.
"Yea I met him," He replies, "The kid is pretty cool but is striking out with the girls."
"Good!" I say with a smile.

Parker explained for me. "That's her ex boyfriend, he broke up with her for some random chick."
"Seriously?" Conner looked at us in disbelief. "He let you go? Well good for me then."
I start to laugh, Parker's arm wrapped more around my waist. Conner noticed and took a step away.
"Sorry Park, I didn't know she was taken."
"She's not," he replies and I look up at him. "I'm waiting for her to say she's mine still." He winks at Conner and he laughs.
"Well, if you say no to him, come find me." Conner said looking at me and walked away.
"Come on," I pull his arm in the direction of the patio. "Let's go shotgun a beer."
"You really are perfect." He says with a grin.
*********************
"So now what would you like to do?" Parker looks over at me from the rocking chair. It's almost 4 am and I'm standing out on the patio looking up at the star filled sky.
"I want to camp."
"If it's camping you want, camping you'll get." He runs into the shed and appears 2 minutes later with an air mattress and a sleeping bag big enough for two.
"Well look who's all prepared." He starts to laugh and replies,
"I like to camp, leave me alone." We set it all up and I go get dressed while he sets up the fire.
Scott comes downstairs, "Whatre you doing?"
"Me and Parker are gunna camp outside, want to join?" Jamie comes walking down two seconds later.

"Ohhhh, never mind." He starts to laugh.
"Yea, we're good. Good night Sky."
"Night Scott, Night Jamie." She blushes and walks back upstairs. So strange.
"Ready to go?" Parker asks. He looks so cute just standing there. He's just in pj pants with no shirt and a crooked smile. Neither of us drank that much, just because of the amount of alcohol consumed every other night.
"Yea lets go."
We're laying down by the fire, I'm laying on his chest, his arm is wrapped around me.
"I'm sorry for never being there in High School. You probably thought that I just wanted to get with you when I started texting you this summer. It's just I realized you were 18, it was legal and I wasn't close with Scott anymore."

"Parker, don't. I'm glad you didn't like me. You weren't..or aren't mature enough to be in a relationship."
"Oh, and you are?"
"Well, I believe that I was put on this earth to fall in love. I'm good at it."
"Well, you are making me fall," He says, looking down at me.
"Oh am I?" I laugh.
"I believe you are." And he kisses me.
"You are going to go to school the same way that I did," he said, "having feelings for someone, and when it's all said and done, you'll end up with that person." I look up at him.
"Who did you go into school having feelings for?"

"You, but you were so young and I was just ready to party. Seeing you this year, you as a senior. You grew up, so did I and now look at us."
I start to laugh, "I guess, but hey, I have a favor to ask."
"Anything."
"Follow me?"
We walk down to the dock and I take his cross out of my pocket.

"Before I forget, I found this on the dock after the first night. I didn't want you to lose it so I threw it in my pocket." He takes it and looks at it for a few seconds.
"Turn around." I do as I'm told and I feel the cold chain along my neck.
"You keep it. Something to remember me."
"As if I could forget." I take off my shirt and shorts and dive into the cool water. He follows and swims right up to me.
"So Parker, would you like to hang out?" I ask with a smile.
"Surely, what would you like to do?" He brushes the hair off my face.
"Oh, I have a few ideas."
