The Key to Growing Up
About how great you thought growing up would be as a child, but once you actually grow up, it's never quite what you expected.

And unlocked the door,
Now I see all the things,
That were hidden before,
Things that were rumored of,
But could never be true,
It's resentment and love,
Blurring lies and the truth.
It's imperfections,
Deep depressions,
Love and desire,
And anger like fire.
Feeling insignificant and small,
Like you never even mattered at all,
It's losing best friends,
And love stories at their end.
Wanting something you can never have,
Learning to fake a laugh when you're sad,
Mostly it's learning how to forgive,
And taking control of this life that you live,
When something shakes the ground you stand on,
Pick up what's left, and keep moving on.
