Chapter 2

Sophia’s POV:

I had gone to the main office to get my schedule, and now I was trying to get my locker to open, unfortunately my locker was winning this fight.

"Hey need some help" - said this short red head with goth clothes.

"Yeah" - I said sighing, realizing I must have looked pathetic trying to open the damned locker. Anyway she hits it three times and then it opens, finally.

"There you go, once you get the trick its pretty easy to do. Oh by the way my names Grace, but you can call me Gracie" - said Gracie.

"I'm Sophia, but you can call me Sophy" - I said.

"So you're the new kid everybody's talking about, I'm glad the rumors were true this school school needs more variety. It has too many preppy airheads." - says Gracie.

I laughed and looked around at the sea of bright happy preppy kids overflowing the hall. And then I saw him, the guy from the entrance. He was passing by with his friends but for like I split second he just stared at me and I, usually really confident, suddenly felt nervous. Gracie must of seen us staring at each other cause she started telling me who he was.

"That's Dante Knight, hes the richest and most popular guy in school, he's also captain of the football and swimming team. But beneath all that peppiness I have always said there is something dark in him. Anyway let me see your schedule" – said Gracie grabbing my schedule from my hands. - "OMG, how lucky we have like 3 classes together, we should get going, Mr. Stevens hates students being late for his class."
With that she dragged me to our math class, while talking to me about the rest of the goths in the school and how amazing it was to have another one, so we could one day out number the preps. But all I was thinking about was what she said about Dante being dark, and then I remembered a weird feeling I felt when I passed by him. Shoving that thought out of my head cause I mean hes a prep jock he cant be dark or can he ?????

Dantes POV:

We got to our class and sat in our usual seat, waiting for Mr. Stevens to start the class. As everybody took their seats I glanced up and saw the new girl. She was sitting in the seats in front of mine with Grace Timmel who usually always sat alone (I guess now she doesn't have to). They were talking as if they were best friends already, which for some reason got me kinda jealous. Math passed by quikly but I found myself instead of paying attention to Mr. Stevens, looking at the new girl. Then Mr. Stevens asked a question. And I saw the new girl raise her hand.

"Yes Ms. Falconi" - said Mr. Steven.

"The answer is 16 right???" - said the new girl (aka Sophy)

"Yes it is" - said Mr. Steven all proud cause someone was actually paying attention to his class. Then he went back to the board.

All I could do was stare at her, she was beautiful and smart but then it hit me she was also GOTH and a wave of disgust took over but it didn't last long.

After math I had biology which went by as normal aka BORING.

Then I had art, which sucked cause it was in partners and mine moved away last week. When I entered the class, everyone looked at me, I know the side effect of being popular. And then I saw HER sitting in my ex partners chair. So I went and sat down.

"Ummm hey I'm Dante Knight! - I said trying to sound smooth and cool but the truth is I was nervous.

"I know who you are, I'm Sophia falconi, but just call me sophy" - she said while looking at her cellphone.

"Oh really and how do you know who I am??" - I asked

"Duh cause your the most popular guy in this school, so it's hard not to hear someone say Oh Dante this and Dante that every 10 seconds" - she said sounding actually bored.

"Really??? And here I thought it was every 5 seconds" - I said joking.

She laughed and I thought it was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. Then Mrs. Winters the art teacher came in and I had to snap back into reality.

"Okay class, today we have a rather interesting project. This project consists in a portrait of your partner. You all have 2 weeks to do this and you also have to write a page of likes and dislikes of your partner, this will help you. The point of this project is to paint your partner as you see them. While in class you can start on the page and in 2 weeks you must have the portrait." - said Mrs. Winters while sitting in her desk and starting to correct some papers she had.

"So I guess we are stuck with each other until we get this done hurray" - said Sophy sarcastically.

"Oh come on I'm not that bad to be with. Maybe we'll even enjoy ourselves" - I said casually.

"Yeah right, so look if we start this right away maybe we could finish faster. So when and where????" - she said sounding a bit annoyed.

"Well how about tomorrow since it's Saturday at my place. Unless you have plans??" - I said wondering if she had a boyfriend o friends to be with.

"Saturday sounds okay. Give me your number so I can call you to confirm the time" - she said

"Okay" - I said actually anxious.

I gave her my number on a piece of paper but when she got it our fingers brushed against each other and I felt of jolt of electricity. She must of felt it to cause she was pulled away really fast. The rest of the class was spent in silence with me occasionally glancing at her. But her hair was covering her face like a curtain.

When the bell rang for lunch she practically ran out. At lunch, when I sat down and I saw Sophy with the goths,she looked like she belonged there. She was talking and laughing. Then I remembered her laugh and I smiled.

"Dude what are you smiling about????" - Chris asked.

But just as I was about to answer, Stacy, one of the cheerleaders came over.

"He's probably thinking about our date tomorrow aren't you????" - she said while giggling.

Then I remembered, that I asked her out Tuesday, not like a real date, I just wanna have sex. But tomorrow I have the project thing with Sophy. So now my head was sex or homework. After a few seconds of internal discussion I decided.

"Umm sorry, stacy I can't go out Saturday, Mrs.Winters out a project and me and my partner are starting on it tomorrow to finish faster" - I said.

"Oh okay we can go out some other day. Uummm I have to go" - she said trying to sound unaffected but I could see the tears in her eyes and then she walked away.

"Dude I thought your partner left" - said Chris as soon as Stacy left.

"He did but turns out the new girl is also my new art partner" - I said

"Oh harsh, sounds like hell" - said Chris, he knew of my hate towards the goths.

"Actually I think it will be very interesting" - I said.

After that we ate lunch and went to class. I found out that I had 2 more classes with Sophy, Music and Literature but we sat far from each other so I could only stare at her. Occasionally I would see her staring through her hair. The thought of her looking at me actually made me happy. By the time I got home the only thing I could think about was how excited I was for it to be Saturday.
