The Hungers
The story begins in a diary passage; one that was written by a Hunger. What are these creatures and who created them? Read and find out.
December 1 3006.
I'm cold, I'm always cold, yet the events that happened today seem to add to my coldness. It wasn't correct, something went terribly wrong. Dr. Pi had suggested us to turn on the radiation pilot that would stimulate our blood cells. He was wrong, so wrong. The radiation compelled our DNA with something wicked, something horrid. The change hurt, to say the least. I don't remember much, just the angry pain. Did you know pain had a color? Many think it's red but for me it was black.
The hollow darkness filled my mind with despair; I couldn't deliver a single thought. After the failure he said he'd hide us from the Police, yet he lied. The Police chased us and hunted many of us. It was hard to watch them tear bodies apart yet I stayed hidden in the bushes near the creek and watched all of it unfold before my eyes. Did you know that bones make a sickly noise when you pull off the limbs, in fact, most of the time the bone splitters through the skin. I hadn't known that, not until today.
I have to move or else I will die. I don't know if any one else escaped, I hope someone had. It's difficult to decipher where I am now; somewhere in the old Mexico, I think.
