The Human's City, The Vampire's War - Chapters 5 and 6
Long time since I've posted on this story hope you like the chapters.
Chapter 5
~Leo~
"Leo." Erick said glancing over his shoulder. Erick jumped down from a tree and landed in front of me.
"I've been looking for you." I said then paused "What's the matter?"
"Umm." Erick said glancing back.
"Well out with it." I said growing impatient.
"You haven't changed one bit have you?" Asta said stepping from around the tree.
"Asta?" I couldn't believe he was awake so soon that is, "You're not supposed."
"To be awake for another 3 weeks I know... but I was hungry, very hungry." Asta said his eyes were bright red. "You haven't seen Ebony have you?" He asked licking his lips that were tinted red, he had already begun feeding.
"Not for a few centuries." I mumbled watching him. Erick hid behind me slightly peeking at Asta every now and then.
"You're expecting to see her?" Asta said as if it were more a fact than a question.
"No." It was a flat-out lie but I said it with a straight face.
"Interesting." Asta said taping his nails against the tree. Erick, and I cringed as Asta pulled his nails down the tree stripping it of bark.
"What do you have in mind?" I asked knowing that I would side with him in whatever was about to happen.
"Have you seen your precious Hannah?" Asta asked, "I think it's time you visit her don't you think so?"
"NO." Erick said hurriedly and I quickly covered his mouth and gave a weary smile to Asta
"Why should I go see her?"
Asta glared at me but did not answer his question. "Ebony will see her before she sees you"
"Fine." I said. Erick looked up at me with his mouth wide open in shock that I was giving in to Asta.
~Zane~
~Tokyo, Japan~
I looked at my watch. It had been a few days since Ebony had left New York. I wasn't positive that she would be coming to Tokyo but I had a better chance her than searching India. I was determined to find Asta considering I was his first made. Susan clung to my side. I had forgotten that this was her first real trip overseas. She was like a daughter to me but not quite.
"Zane?" Susan asked tugging on my hand. I smiled and looked down at her.
"Yes my Susan?" I said.
"I think something is going to happen. Something bad." She said her green eyes sweeping over the city skyline. The house I had in Tokyo was a bit away from the city so that you could overlook the city.
"Don't worry I will protect you and nothing will happen to you." I said kissing the top oh her head. She was unconvinced and went to play with one of the other vampire children that where in our small clan. I looked out at the skyline and sighed. One of the boys came over to me and said that there was an ancient in Tokyo.
"Where?" I said smiling.
"On the outskirts of the city."
"I think we'll go visit her."
~Hannah~
"Miss Hannah! Miss Ebony!" A young servant girl yelled. Hannah and Ebony scrambled out of their beds and ran towards the girl.
"Yes. Yes?" I said as I tied her robe.
"Who is it?" Ebony said walking up behind me as Talon followed.
"Hello." A man said with a smile letting himself in as a young girl bounced in behind him. She was wearing a kimono dress. "Ebony... You did not tell me their where other ancients awake." Zane said with a smile.
"Actually were all awake." Leo said appearing in the large forum area with Erick. I turned around so fast I feel to the floor.
"Leo." I said scooting back to Ebony who fell in to Talon's arm, "Why are you here?!" I said
"Hannah you're not happy to see me?" Leo said with a hurt expression.
"What's all the noise about? Don't you know we humans actually-" Callie said walking out of her room and bumping in to the man who wrapped her his arms around her and held his nails to her neck. Callie stood paralyzed looking around the room "Auntie?" She said with a strained voice.
"Give her to me!" I said getting up but was blocked and pushed back to the floor.
"Not until I get what I want." He said in a sing-song voice.
"Give her to me! Give me my niece." I said pleading and getting angry. Callie cried out in pain as the man dug her nails in to her arm before starting to draw them against her throat.
"NO. NO." I cried looking at Ebony then at Talon then at Leo "Do something!" I said before attacking the vampires.
Leo held me back before I could to attack the man. A young girl stood in front of him.
"Leo." I cried tears streaking my face.
"Ebony." He said in his sing-song voice. "Where is he?"
"I don't know! I don't know!" Ebony said shaking her head. He shook his head and taped his nails against Callie's throat.
"Ebony. Ebony. That's not good not good at all." He hissed, "2 weeks until the red star." He said and drew his nails against Callie's neck causing her blood to spill. He dropped her to the floor coughing and choking on her blood. "I will be back in two weeks." He said, "I want him then."
"CALLIE." I screamed breaking Leo's grasp and ran to her. "Callie forgive me for this." I let my fangs grow and drank from Callie until she was almost dead then I bit my wrist and dripped my blood in to Callie's mouth. Callie coughed but her neck started to heal.
"Miss Hannah," the little girl knelt down and wrapped Callie's neck and arm with some gauze. Erick helped the girl lift Callie and take her to her room. I shook my head then whipped my head towards Ebony.
"Who was he and Who does he want?" I said my voice thick with anger. "And Leo why on God's green earth are you here?"
"His name is Zane and he wants Asta's blood." Talon said still holding the terrified Ebony, "And as you see he will stop at nothing to get it."
"Umm well about that." Leo said.
"Asta is awake." Eric said, "And Miss Ebony... he's here and wants you."
"What?!" Ebony said walking towards Eric. Asta took Ebony with such speed that no one saw until Ebony screamed.
"EBONY!!" Talon yelled looking around the room.
"Leo explain yourself and Explain NOW." I hissed my eyes filled with rage and I glanced around the room looking for Asta or Ebony.
"Now honey. Love."
"He's has sided with Asta because Asta is going to finish what he didn't all those years ago... including kill the child." Eric said with a smirk. What child? None of us could reproduce could we?

Chapter 6
~Asta~
I gently set Ebony down on the bench in the garden. She stared at me with fear and loving eyes.
"Hello Asta." She said with a small smile.
"Hello Ebony." I said with a smile. I brushed her caramel colored skin I ran my nails against her cheek and slapped her. She turned so that her jet black hair fell over her cheek which slowly healed and tears streak her face. "Ebony. My Ebony."
"Don't please." Ebony said drawing away from my touch "What do you want from me?" She asked.
"You ask that question as if you don't know. France? Madrid? Chicago?" I said "Don't tell me you have forgotten my love."
"No I remember them all too well." Ebony said touching her hand. "All too well"
"Then you know what I want?"
"Me and Talon." Ebony paused "Dead." I could see she was leaning on the edge of passing out she had not feed and needed too.
"Well I want Talon dead." I said looking at Ebony who was collapsed on the bench. I glanced at Ebony and lifted her. Then brought her back to Talon without being noticed.
~Talon~
"We must be going now. Eric." Leo said.
"Yes master." Eric said smiling at Hannah's servant girl. She giggled and bowed to him.
"I shall see you in two weeks?" Leo said glancing at Hannah with sadden eye's. Hannah sighed and let silent tears fall. She nodded and watched as Leo left. His percent being replaced by Ebony.
"Ebony?" I said and rushed to her side. She moaned. I bit my wrist and held it to her mouth she drank greedily. I lifted her and took her back to our room. She slept and I watched her.
Ebony has a child. How could she hide this from me. Why wouldn't she tell anyone? Why wouldn't she tell me. I thought she trusted me I just didn't understand why she would keep that from me.
"No! No! Asta my love please you can't do this. You just can't." Ebony moaned. I listened to her talk in her sleep.
Ebony
~1814~
~Madrid, Spain ~
I smiled as Asta and I watched Sonya play her violin for the band of gypsy we traveled with. Asta had his arms wrapped around me as the girls danced around the large bonfire.
Asta and I had been on a good streak for the past 100 years. And I was happy about that but that only meant that something was bound to mess it up soon. Talon smiled at Sonya she had been watching him for quite some time and wanted to be his, but she was one of the few who knew what he was.
Most of the gypsies that we traveled with thought we were to be feared as demons from hell. The few that did know loved us and wanted to always keep us close but I fear this would hurt those that trust us and only prove the ones who feared us right. I glanced up at Asta who had his arms wrapped around me in a loving and caring way but I know this feeling would only last for another few days or so. Our red star was approaching and I could feel it. I could feel him turning back to the self he loved. The self that I feared, and the self that only hurt me. He loved this self more than me I think. Oh how can I be such a fool and love him back? How can I set myself for pain again and again? Oh why must the course of love be so unfair?
~Talon~
I looked at Ebony and Asta. They were so happy tighter. Sonya tugged on the sleeve of my shirt. I smiled at her to me she was perfect in so many ways. She pulled me away from the group. I had been teaching her English but it was still very broken.
"You love me?" She said in her thick Spanish accent.
I smiled, "Yes."
"I'm yours?" She asked.
I looked at her and sighed, "No." I said and held her hands in mine.
She frowned her honey colored skin glowed in the moonlight, "Why?"
"Your brother fears me."
"A mi no me importa." She said and looked at me with serious eyes, "Te amo mi amor."
"Te amo." I said and kissed her and held her in my arms for a moment. Sonya looked at me and sighed I could tell she wanted to say something but would not. We walked back to the camp and saw it was in ruins. I saw Ebony was gone and most of the gypsies were either dead or gone. Sonya rushed to her brother's side he was almost dead and she was crying. I walked over to her and sat by her.
"Take care of my sister." He said to me then told Sonya that he will wait for her in the light. She held his hand and cried.
~Sonya~
I cried and sprawled myself across Javier's chest. I whipped my head towards Talon. My dark locks fell in front of my gray eyes.
"You monster!" I spat at him "You've killed my brother! You've killed my brother." I cried as tears of anger streaked my face. He shook his head in utter shock at the scene around him and me. His eyes were a brilliant frost green. His black hair fell around his face and his skin the color of mine glowed in the fire. I stood and looked at him.
"You've done this!" I screamed. I knew it wasn't possible for him to have killed Javier but I was so angry.
"Mi amore please come with me." Talon said holding his hand out. I shook my head no. "Please I beg you. I don't want to lose you." He said, "Don't you trust me?" I looked at his hand and took it he pulled me to my feet quickly. We started to run towards the river following screams. Ebony's screams or those of my clan? We came to where the destruction stopped and the trail of blood started. We came up to the scene of two people one lying on the ground speaking a language I did not understand and the other standing overlooking at the person as if to kill them.
"Will you stay here?" Talon asked as he tucked me behind some berry bushes. I nodded and watched him run away. Oh I do hope he comes back soon. I turned and fell on to my backside. I crouched and saw the person on the ground was lying lifeless and Talon stood over them. It must have been Ebony. I turned and saw Asta standing over me. Even in the moonlight I could see his eyes were thirsty. He snatched me up by my hair. I screamed for Talon. I looked around and saw we were by the river. Asta threw me down to the rock and shell covered ground. I cried and looked up at him.
"You're not going to run are you?" He said and smiled at him. What kind of question was that? Of course I was going to run! I scrambled to my feet and took off as fast as my feet would carry me... which wasn't far. I screamed for Talon again. He yelled to Asta something I couldn't understand. Oh Lord what were they saying?! Asta shook his head spun me around and traced his fingers on my neck. He said something that upset Talon then there was a horrible pain in my neck. It felt so strange my eyelids became heavy and I felt cold. It was so strange because it was the middle of the summer. Talon save me from this nightmare.
~Asta~
I smiled satisfied with what I had done I made his precious Sonya mine. Evil? Well yes. I didn't plan on turning her but I did. Talon cried as I bit her.
"Now." I said and scooped Sonya up into my arms as she slipped in to her newborn sleep. "We are even." I said.
"She did not do anything!" Talon yelled. I stopped and turned around, "The score was not set between you and me." I paused and thought to Ebony, "Tell Ebony I hope she meets me in later years." I said and left.
