The Good Kid's Id
Everyone has an inner self called an Id and this poem challenges you to find out who's yours is.
We sit in our seats like the seats are our own.
We sit there and read there, like we always were prone.
We never once question authorities call,
Constantly fearing that seat in the hall.
We keep to ourselves, we speak not a word.
If we do all our homework they call us a nerd.
Our grades are not perfect, but they're always our best.
Continually studying so we can ace the test.
Being an example for all that we see,
Please be a good kid, be more like me.
But if there's on little secret that we keep to ourselves.
We're proud and obnoxious like everyone else.
When we know we are right everything else is false.
We're smart and we're eager, we want what we want.
We're rebellious, we're headstrong, and we know what we're not.
We all have our Ids our little persons inside,\Ours are rebellious, who do you hide?
We sit there and read there, like we always were prone.
We never once question authorities call,
Constantly fearing that seat in the hall.
We keep to ourselves, we speak not a word.
If we do all our homework they call us a nerd.
