The Girl of the Moon - Part 6 - A Stunning Talk
Tom has been through a rough day. His friends are missing, he doesn't know where he is, and no one will answer his questions. What's a guy supposed to do? Tom runs out and confronts Selena to answer his questions. picture of Jordan.

I saw her turn the corner far down the tunnel, her black hair fanning out behind her.
"Wait!" I yelled, running after her. I rounded the corner, out of breath. She was standing there, with her back to me. Her bright eyes were emotionless as she spoke.
"Why are you following me? You should not have left your guides." She did not sound pleased.
"I had to ask you, where are my friends? Where am I? Why did you bring me here? Who are-" Selena held up her hand.
"Go back to your guides, let them show you around, get something to eat. I will answer your questions later." She gave a small smile. "If they ever stop."
She looked at me closely one last time. Her eyes caught mine and I was frozen, they had trapped me. It was like I was in a trance, nothing was real except those points of blue. If I didn’t focus on them, if my attention wavered for one moment, everything would dissolve into chaos.
She blinked and the spell was broken. She took a step back, another small smile on her lips.
"Have a nice day Tom" she said, and then she was gone. She had dissolved into wisps of silver vapor that was dissipating. Frozen in shock, I didn’t move, didn’t respond even when I saw Amber and Jordan talking. To me, their lips were moving but nothing was coming out.
Slowly, my hearing came back and I could understand what was going on around me again. I had collapsed against the wall and was just sitting there, staring off into space. Amber walked over to where Selena had vanished and picked up 2 pieces of paper. She read one and glanced up at me, then walked over to Jordan. He took one and Amber gave the unread paper to me.
"Apparently, she thought you were going to keep following her, so she made sure you wouldn’t." Amber said.
I turned my attention to the note and read what she had left for me.
Tom
I’m sorry I had to stun you, but it was necessary. I knew you wouldn’t go until you questions were answered, but it’s not my place to tell. Listen to your guides, make some friends, develop your gift. I’ll come back when you’re ready.
Good Luck.
Selena
I re-read the letter over and over while Amber and Jordan talked. My legs started to work again and I was unfocused until hurried whispers reached my ears.
"Do you know what this means? If it turns out he doesn’t have a skill, they’ll be a lot of memory work to do and guess who will be blamed? What was she thinking?" Jordan said, sneaking glances toward me. I kept staring at the paper, but I was paying more attention to my peripheral vision.
"Don’t be ridiculous. Have you ever known her to go and get newbies? There’s something special about him, can’t you feel it? We must follow her directions, for now. Besides, the festival is in a week and the tournament begins in two days. You know many uncover their gift then. We will wait." Ambers voice was final, whatever they were arguing about, she had won.
They walked over and helped me up, sill eying each other. I had the feeling that it was going to be very annoying very soon, but I had no choice. Selena had left me, I had to trust her and follow the directions left to me. Great, what a way to begin in my new life.
Thank to all who continue to read my stories! Lotta love to ya!
