The Fastest Road To Instant Happiness Right Now - Part 2
This article is Part 2 of 3 parts. It describes how anyone can achieve a state of total happiness immediately, regardless of external circumstances.

What is the purpose?
Many people have a mistaken idea about happiness. They believe we are born to find happiness. Not so. The fact is that we are born happy. Observe any infant. We unwittingly lose this happiness somewhere along the way. I shall repeat this again: Joy is not the goal of life - joy is the purpose of life.
We lose this internal state of happiness as our mind creates the perception that we are individuals - separated from the whole and completely alone. Our minds constantly reinforce this perception. Remember what was said in Part 1 of this article about the ability of the brain to perceive anything truly. Would you want this to be your guide to happiness? Yet it is for you, every minute of every day. When you learn to see beyond the walls your mind has created, you will find the happiness, joy, peace and freedom you seek.
All that is required is that you train your mind to see truly. When you accomplish this, you will behold a world that you have never seen before, though it was there all along. You simply could not see it.
Retraining the mind to perceive a different reality is the goal behind all mind training methods, be they found in religion, metaphysics or psychology. These methods generally take a very long time.
They take a long time because they attempt to fight the mind. This is one way, but is not necessarily the best way. Do you want to work for decades to ‘find’ happiness? Or would you rather have it right now?
Happy, successful, fulfilled and joyful people think differently than most of their brothers. Therein lies the key to attaining a state of happiness right now.
Imagine this: Think for a moment about the most successful person you might wish to emulate. Now imagine for a moment that you could get ‘inside’ this person’s mind. How would that person think? Imagine that you could write it all down. Imagine you could see every thought they might have. Pretend that you could discover everything they might do, were they in your shoes. Imagine you could know their feelings, their beliefs, their perceptions and how they might react in any situation. Now that you’ve written all this down, ask yourself: Could you not do the same?
Of course you could. And if you could, you would not only be ‘inside’ that person’s head, you would also be squarely in their shoes. Experiencing the same success. If you could say, do, think, feel, believe and perceive as they do, you would be as successful as they. This is the NLP concept of modeling. It is nothing new.
Nothing matters other than your happiness. It does not matter how you personally define happiness. What makes you happy, makes you happy. You do not have to learn anything to be happy. You do not have to do anything to attain happiness. All you need do is to find it. It is there.
I will begin to explain how to attain a state of instant happiness right now by relating a simple short story.
Once upon a time, two men were standing and talking. It began to snow.
Man 1 got very excited and happy. He was a skier, and snow meant he could engage in his favorite activity. Man 2 was very unhappy, as he was a gardener, and snow meant the possible end of his well-tended garden.
The next day, the two men were standing outside talking. It began to rain. Man 1 became very upset, as rain meant the snow would soon be gone. Man 2, on the other hand, became happy and excited, as rain meant the possible return of the growing season. Now, which man was correct?
The answer? Both of them. But each reacted only to a personal perception of external events. They compared external events with an internal set of preferences. You create your own heaven or hell, based only on your personal perception of events. This, of course, is elementary. But it is an unfortunate fact that we never really react to any event realistically. Suppose there was a man here who was both skier and gardener. Would he not be happy in either case? Of course he would be.
It is vital to understand that your thoughts create only YOUR personal reality.
If you can control your thoughts, you can control your personal reality.
What You Can Control
Other than simple perception, humans are capable of only so much. They communicate. They act. They feel. They believe. They decide.
Your communication stems from your thought. Control your thought and you will control your communication.
Your feelings stem from your thought. Control your thought and you will control your feelings.
Your beliefs stem from your thought. Control your thought and you will control your beliefs.
Your decisions stem from your thought. Control your thought and you will control your decisions.
Your actions stem from your thoughts. Control your thoughts and you can control your actions.
In short, you can control everything you personally experience by rearranging your thoughts. This should be of paramount importance to you, if you wish to find peace, joy and happiness. For you CHOOSE everything you say, do, feel, believe and decide. You are responsible, at some level, for all of it.
You believe you are at the mercy of your thoughts, for it appears as though you cannot control what comes to you. But you can. Without struggle.
The universe will always be just what it is. It will never change to suit your preferences. It will sometimes snow. It will sometimes rain. This is how things must be. If you decide you prefer one or the other, you will be unhappy at least 50% of the time. Therefore, given the fact that you simply cannot, and indeed will never be able to change external reality, the answer is simple:
Change your preferences. Change you thoughts. This you DO control.
