The Every Day Christian

The moment we are saved, we become alive! The truth is that most Christians do not realize this, oh, they do get saved, but they never grab hold of that life and power available to them through Christ and the Holy Spirit. It is time that our life as a Christian is changed.

First let's look at the source of this life, where does it come from.

"After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also." John 14:19

The Person who is talking here is Jesus Christ, it is when He is telling the disciples that He is leaving but He will send a Comforter to be with them, but as the reader can see in the verse...because I live, you shall live also. Because Christ is alive, eternally, so are the ones that have accepted Him as their personal savior.

But how long does this life that we have in the Savior last? Well it is only logical to realize that if Jesus lives forever and we get our life from Him, then we would live forever as well.

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26

"For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."Romans 1:17

In these Bible verses all we see is" live, live, faith, faith, believe, believe"...there is something in these verses that is trying to make itself known. Those who are saved, the people who have placed their lives in the hands of Jesus Christ, these people have to start doing some things...they have to start living the Christian life; stop being a person that is in the world, you made your decision so now follow it. Secondly, that person has to have faith in Christ, he has to believe in the One that saved him, without faith, the Christian life is nothing at all, there can be no triumphant living as a Christian if that Christian does not have absolute faith in the very thing, in the very Person who made him a child of God in the first place.

All of this might seem so obvious to some Christians that are out there, but believe me, there are so many people who call themselves Christians and do not show any signs of life, there are so many people who have been saved, but they do not trust Christ enough to actually follow Him.

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."Romans 2:20

As we can see in the verse provided above, Christ is living in us, and the life we are living now is a life of faith. It is so simple but for many people it is extremely hard, it is very difficult to give everything over to Christ and let Him take control of your life.

God doesn't ask for a blind faith in Him, He wants us to analyze the evidences we have: history, science etc. His prophecies are unique and fulfilled 100% to the last detail so far. So know your God, you Christian have a wonderful God!

I was reading some Oswald Chambers lately, and he said something like this: Come unto Christ and let Him lead your life, do His will, but if you put up any kind of resistance then the Holy Spirit will not be able to lead you, if you refuse to yield, and if you refuse to do what Christ has shown you then God will not be able to take you on to the next step in your faith, in your walk with Him.

Just let God take control, put your faith in Him and do His will; even if it seems to be difficult at times, we can always be sure that it is the best thing for us. Will it be hard? Maybe, but with Christ anything is possible!

He can and He will lead us through, whatever it is, because He lives in us, and we have to start putting our faith in Him, that is how we will have the life of a living Christian, that is when true peace and happiness comes, it is when we are doing God's will with a smile on our face, because He knows what's best.
