The End
Another day in the life.
She stood in the wild wind, her mahogany locks swirling around her. Trembling in the cold, she waits.
Then, she sees him. Time stops. Her heart stops. Her breathing stops. The world stops.
Everything goes black, a shining light glows from his very being, illuminating him, making him look more like the angel he truly is.
Their eyes meet, and a second becomes a lifetime.
She moves towards him, bravely, yet timidly. Her heart flutters in her chest, her very core thumping with might and resilience.
She smiles, he smiles back.
She sits to his right, the clocks in her brain ticking.
She opens her mouth to speak.
"Hey," she smiles. "How are you?"
"Fine," he nods, disinterest etched in his heavenly face.
She nods back, her smile frozen in place. She looks away, flipping her long dark locks over her shoulder, veiling her hurt expression behind it. Her smile melts away, her lips tremble.
She stares out the window, though her eyes are somewhere else. They are glued to his reflection.
With longing and sorrow piercing her bleeding heart, she stares, and she continues to stare.
Then, he stands.
And just like that, he walks away, not even glancing for a last look at his veiled victim.
Her heart screams her love for him, but he is deaf to its ardent agony. As she watches his reflection with agonized eyes, she whispers "I love you", and wipes the tears from her eyes.
And just like that, it started in October, and it ended in October.
